BONUS – Individual RDR music stems, can be combined to form new mixes since the whole OST is recorded at the same bpm. (thanks to _wind_ for uploading this)

After spending the last 2 months on these rips, I finally finished them, and I can say that after MUCH frustration, it was all worth it. RDR fans and fans of music in general are going to love this.
I released a RDR rip last year, and I thought that I recorded most of the music in the game. I was wrong. This rip includes double the amount of music. My previous rip was 10+ hours of music. This is 20 hours! This is a much more complete rip and it is also in order this time. My last rip was just a mess and compared to this rip, it’s just terrible…The reason for such a huge difference is hard to explain, but I recommend reading this article to help understand and see why this OST is in my opinion the most epic and unique ever created.
Redemption songs: the making of the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack | Technology | guardian.co.uk (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2010/may/26/red-dead-redemption-soundtrack)
If you don’t want to read the article, basically the entire OST is created at 130 BPM. This allows to literally layer the tracks and weave them in and out to create fluid transitions between tracks and smooth transitions into different situations. This makes for a large amount of possibilities of combinations of different themes being used together. Also, once I found out that all the tracks are 5 minute loops, or more specifically about 4:30 second loops, I realized how much music I missed my last rip. It is difficult to tell where some tracks start and where they end, since they are loops and they seem to kick in at a random point in the loop. I did my best to decide where to start and where to stop the tracks, usually where it seemed most likely to begin.
I had to exploit the game and especially the AI greatly in order to get the full 5 minute loops to play. For example in the Justice in Pike’s Basin mission, you could set the controller down and the Marshall and his deputies will literally roll through Pike’s Basin without you lifting a finger. I had to stand in the Marshalls’ way to get the whole track to play. That’s just one example out of MANY I had to exploit. Let’s just say it was an absolute nightmare at times and with a little patience and luck, I was able to get pretty much ALL of the full tracks. There are a handful of tracks I was not able to get full versions of. Basically if anything is less than 4:30, you know I wasn’t able to get the full version. It’s only a handful of tracks though.
I am positive I am missing a few tracks, namely the music that plays when you are Wanted in all 3 areas. I was able to get 1 full Wanted track from New Austin, but apparently it was luck. No matter what I do the music jumps all over the place while wanted, and it’s just a jumbled mess. If anyone knows how to get these tracks to play without cutting off, changing etc… let me know and I will add them. I just couldn’t find a way, maybe someone else knows. There are also a few tracks in multiplayer matches that just jump around to much and cut in/out at random. I am pretty sure there are no duplicate tracks here, but I may have missed 1 or 2. Just know that some tracks sound very alike except for ONE extra layer or so. If anyone finds any duplicates or knows of any tracks I am missing, tell me what they are and I will add/remove them.
I also wanted to say that if you notice on the official OST for both RDR and Undead Nightmare, you will notice tracks like Estancia, for example, are not even found in the game as far as I can tell. In fact, if you listen carefully, pretty much all of the tracks on the OSTs are different variations of songs in my rip. They contain new layers, or mix and match new pieces. My point is I don’t know if those tracks are in the game, and I am positive there are more tracks hidden in this game that can only be accessed in certain ways. Most of these tracks on my rip, you would only hear like 5-30 seconds of while playing the game. It’s only through literally exploiting that you can access the full soundtrack, and that is quite a shame.:( The good news is those of you reading this will now get to experience it.:D I was surprised that there was so much new music to be heard when I learned to exploit it correctly. Without access to the master collection Bill Elm and Woody Jackson have for this game, there’s no telling what or how many more tracks are floating out there. I would love to hear you input on tracks you have heard that I didn’t include.
This really is the best soundtrack ever created in my opinion. I am absolutely in love with it. It is something truly unique. The scope and vision of the OST is huge. If any of you feel the same way about the music in Red Dead Redemption, you are probably going to be pleased with this rip. I am extremely happy it turned out this well.
Enjoy :D.
EDIT: Special thank you goes out to _wind_ for keeping these links updated!
Your previous effort was much appreciated, but this is a whole different beast.
It’s in my not so humble opinion the best Gamerip of the Year so far.
I just spoke to Woody Jackson through emails yesterday, and he has given me his blessing to upload the entire rip to Youtube, so I will be doing that either later today or tomorrow. I also will be releasing a few fixes just as soon as I get a chance, please check back for the links.
fixes – Download – 4shared – John Marston (http://www.4shared.com/rar/DapX7wf8/fixes.html)
Anyone downloading the rip from this point on can ignore this post. The main links now contain all of the fixes so downloading this file is not necessary.
Apparently 199 is the max number of videos allowed in a playlist so the rip is split into 2 parts.

Can not thank enough! Luv this damn game.
EDIT: Oh by the way Landon Ricketts is the shit!
It’s stunning to have this much music from such a memorable game soundtrack (my personal favorite, incidentally).
At first I thought there were day/night versions for each area, but after A LOT of trial and error and organizing the tracks, I found that time of day is irrelevant. Good news though, if you heard a song play in the game while exploring the world, you can bet it is in this rip. 😀
After listening to the rip for about a month, I have determined that the volume setting may have turned out a bit lower than I like. When I play these songs in a playlist with tracks from other soundtracks, the volume difference is noticeable and I really have to crank the volume up to get a "normal" volume. You may not have noticed this but unless you like to play your music LOUD like me, you probably wouldn’t notice.
I am going to do some testing when I get a chance to see if it is even worth editing the volume on all of the tracks (distortion etc.). I may release a new version if it turns out well so keep checking back here if that sort of thing interests you.
If you have downloaded my rips before and want to get a SIGNIFICANT increase in volume and quality, I HIGHLY recommend running the rips through MP3Gain and normalize them at the default level of 89. The music is so much more full and it definitely sounds a LOT better. I am going to work on uploading the "fixed volume" version of the rip in the next day or so, so you can also just wait for that if you like.
MP3Gain Downloads (http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php) – The download you want is the 3rd one down called (mp3gain-win-full-1_2_5.exe)
1 – Install
2 – Open and add the files to the program.
3 – Click the Track Analysis button, will take a few minutes to go through them all and will tell you the volume levels of the MP3s
4 – When finished analyzing, click Track Gain and after a few minutes of waiting you are finished. Enjoy.
Test it for yourself and you will see the difference.
You are correct. It’s a PLUGIN. Meaning you HAVE to play the files in that particular player to get the volume effect. But if you put those files on your ipod, the volume reverts to the way it was.
MP3Gain PERMANENTLY modifies the volume on all mp3s, regardless of what application you use to play them.
Unless you have already downloaded my rips, please ignore my post about MP3Gain earlier today.
Dam shame more people aren’t interested in the rip. Only so many people check FFshrine forums, and this is really the only way of me getting the rip out there. I have a feeling more people would want this if they knew it existed. Anyway, I am glad some of you enjoy it as much as I do.
Helps to learn how the composers and the sound designers had to think about how to build the organic soundtrack. Didn’t know that they brought in David Holmes for the official OST to go through 14 hours of recordings in order to edit them down into individual pieces.
You are welcome. 🙂
I was in your shoes at one point, that’s when I took action. 😀
Glad you like it.
I tried, but the saloon music is part of the sound effects in the game world. So it would have turned out pretty badly since you would also hear all of the people chattering and other sound effects.
Glad to see more people are still finding this rip enjoyable.
Which songs are you referring to? I didn’t include any of the official music from the OST.

Oh snap, thank you guys!
Thank you so much roncoallstar for all your efforts. It’s people like u that make the web the joy it is!
Also, a big shout out to Wind, without whose re-up I’d have never have acquired this rip.
Cheers guys.
Thankfully the playlists are still up on YouTube and I’ve gone through them twice already. Was hoping to get them on iTunes for when I travel.
What are the chances of reviving these links? I wonder why Rockstar wasn’t eager to get the whole 20+ hour soundtrack out seeing as though they spent all that money on the soundtrack and music is the biggest element of a games immersion. People playthough this game just to experience the music again.
The links in post #63 (Thread 128390) still work.
Silly me. Thanks.

Thank you wind for re-uploading these, I have been meaning to do that for quite awhile and it slipped my mind. I edited my original post with your links for now.
I just downloaded the rip to make sure you uploaded the correct NEW version with the adjusted volume levels, and you have uploaded the correct version. Enjoy. 🙂
UPDATE: Nevermind!! Thanks!
It is a program called OpenIV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5iR3SHj2UY
I have been having fun mixing and matching all of the different stems through Audacity. The entire soundtrack is done at the same beats per minute, so the possibilities are vast for combinations. Obviously some go together better than others but I feel like I am experiencing new versions of the tracks. Hearing these stems individually really made me understand the soundtrack 100 times over, and showed me how flawed my rip really is. Someone could literally create a soundtrack with thousands of different combinations of tracks with these stems if they had the time.
I am not sure about the rule of posting torrents here so I will just say this, you can find the link through google search by typing "Red Dead Redemption – MUSIC GAME RIP torrent". The working link is the one from limetorrent, but only the magnet link worked for me.

I know I am years late with this reply but I missed your comment sorry. That little music clip must be part of the in game sound effects just like the saloon music. It’s not a stem and it’s not part of my rip, as I would have recorded it when I played through with sound effects turned off. Sorry but I don’t think there is a full version of this track on the disk, hard to say until someone can fully explore the disk.
Who says anything about the first page. There are re-ups on the third page and the same links are quoted on this one. Here they are again:

This is the music rip roncoallstar mentioned in one of his latest post. Took a while to download it. Now you can create your own mixes!!

Pardon my ignorance, but do you know who it was that ripped this? There’s artifacting galore all over these background stems. It’s unbearable. If you have a source for the original awc files before they were put through god-knows-what program and converted to shoddy 160kbp mp3 files, that would be grand.
I don’t know who originally ripped these files, but I know it is very difficult to access the RDR files from the disc. I think they actually had to create and use OpenIV, which is not official. This may have been the best he could do since there is no other program that I am aware of to extract the RDR files from a PS3 or Xbox disc. There are definitely stems and tracks here that are not in my rip, meaning they NEVER play in game.
I attempted to do my own extraction with OpenIV years ago for the very same reason you mentioned. I couldn’t figure it out and a tutorial for Open IV and the method for extracting eluded me. If someone does figure it out or is able to extract a higher quality version of the music stems, PLEASE drop the link here. I plan on doing a higher quality re record of RDR 1 sometime this year and I planned on adding the stems from the extraction that I am missing in my rip, unless someone can figure out a higher quality method before then. This may be the best we ever get unfortunately. 🙁 I hope someone out there can figure it out because there are some gems.

NP, working my butt off on it as we speak. I’m about halfway or so and I plan on having it completed in a few weeks or a month.
Those are in a separate folder here (https://youtu.be/t5iR3SHj2UY?t=38s). I’m working on getting a hold of the entire sfx files, but for now, not a lot of traction.
