I had only the 2002 Edition (27 tracks).
Thank you very much, my friend.
I’ve just listened to the first and final tracts, and the audio quality is heads and thoraxes above the mess I wound up with trying to rip the LP myself. I was considering attempting to reproduce the LP cut from the recording sessions album (also from here) but lord only knows what sort of fresh hell THAT would have resulted in. (I’m happy to have the recording sessions and the Prometheus CD, but yeah–the LP cut trimmed by Goldsmith himself is the best for your general listening.)
The LP cover with the hilarious anecdotes by Allen’s publicist, Tony Habeeb, is also deeply appreciated!

Of course the LP selections are not from the recording sessions or the Prometheus CD, so this LP is essential. Check out the superior version of "The Bees Picnic" from the LP.
I wasn’t very clear: I was thinking of trying to EDIT tracks from the recording sessions into a facsimile of the LP cut. Had SOME success with an afternoon’s twiddling around, but it just wouldn’t have been the same (and purists would’ve had my ass for lunch). Thankfully, it’s now a moot point.
So a big THANK YOU to worksofare.
A Goldsmith action classic.
I always thought the LP had the best version of this score…
