Hardest Boss Battle(s)

Of all the games you played, what was the hardest boss battle to you? It’s fine to list more than 1, since there is such a wide variety of battle styles. I’m listing 1 from each series I’ve played since it’s too hard to pick just 1.

Mario Series
Cackletta’s Soul from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga – I usually think Mario boss battles are generally not too difficult but this one…

Metroid Series
Emperor Ing from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes – It’s mainly hard since you lose a ridiculous amount of health even from a little scratch and even having all the energy tanks doesn’t help me much. :rolleyes:

Donkey Kong Series
Baron K.Roolenstien from Donkey Kong Country 3 – I don’t find boss battles in the Donkey Kong series to be hard but this is the one I think is the hardest but it’s not too difficult still.

Zelda Series
Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time – Not Ganon but Ganondorf…

Resident Evil Series
Javier from Darkside Chronicles – ’nuff said.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Event #51 – The Showdown… it’s not really a boss battle, but I consider it to be one since Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo are in it. I smashed my controller many times from losing this battle so many times and it’s even worse for me now since I’m so used to Brawl and haven’t played Melee in years.

I’ll add more if I can think of some…

First ones that come to mind are the Extra Quest Ragnarok Odyssey bosses, such as Surt and Bronzed Grendel. I’ve still yet to defeat a number of them.

FFVII Ruby and Emerald Weapons
FFIX Ozma

I have yet to beat these three.

Metroid Series: Dark Samus pt 3 AKA Final-final boss on Hard. Nothing frustrated me more than when I was just about to get a phazon shot to kill Dark Samus and my charge is interrupted by the other shots. FUCK.

Evolution Worlds: Ulticannon. Fucking. Ulticannon. I couldn’t beat this fucking boss for…five…YEARS. No matter WHAT I did, how I attacked, how much I healed. I couldn’t beat this fucker.

Paper Mario TTYD: Bonetail. Bonetail caused me a lot of trouble until I found how the danger mario trick

M&L:SSS, Dragon already discussed this. I actually had such rage issues when I did it that I broke my gameboy. Beat her on an Emulator last year, without the aid from cheats. The second time through, however, I squashed her ass ^_^

Zelda Series

I didn’t have trouble with him. I think Zelda boss battles are usually not hard. I just think he’s the hardest in the series in which I’ve played. :p He’s still very easy, just harder than other Zelda boss battles.

This was the same case with me. Back when I had a real copy, I for the life of me could not beat her, but it only took me a few tries with an emulator… hmm. Then again, I’m way better at video games now then I was back then lol. I’ll probably get a copy of this again since I have a Gameboy Player now.

Nu-uh, No way. There are WAY harder bosses than him. Zant, is a good example. Demise as well, Agahnim from LTTP, Ganon from LTTP, Ganondorf from WW, Majora’s 3 forms from Majora’s mask. All are FAR more difficult. I refuse to believe you good sir!

I still haven’t beaten LTTP yet so I wouldn’t know about those. Haven’t played Twilight Princess in a while either… I’m playing Majora’s Mask now then Wind Waker. I should probably replay these Zelda games again then I might change my answer. :p

Necron: Grand Cross is the most annoying thing that I ever seen in an RPG.
Sepher Sephiroth: I got rid off Rebirth Sephiroth and that seraph thing didn’t give me the chance to recover some HP.

Mega Man Zero

Aztec Falcon and The Four Guardians: Extreme speed+Tons of life bars.

Mischief Makers

Phoenix γ: That blue bird can kill you in no time, I hate when Merco attacks Marina too.

No More Heroes series

Alice Twilight, Matt Helms, Shinobu and Henry: They just don’t die.
Bad Girl: Many tears of rage >:,(

Pok�mon series

Drake, Norman, Steven, Tate and Liza: Amazing teams.

Resident Evil series

Chief M�ndez, Super Tyrant and that giant snake: M�ndez is too powerful and the other monsters are are too fast.

Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge

Zankuro Minazuki: I just hate when he protects himslef from every attack.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Tabuu: His most powerful attack (its Final Smash?) is so annoying, at least I turned that thing into a trophy, LOL.

The Suffering – I found them all hard. But the final Giant Beast (aka "The Black One") was the hardest IMO

I’m assuming you’re talking about William in the 1st scenario. If you are, then yeah, mainly cause you have very little time to shoot at him since he’s quick. If you’re talking about the Tyrant in the 2nd scenario, he was kind of a pain too… until you get the rocket launcher. 😉

I was talking about both lol. That giant green alligator was hard too. Not really a boss but….

The alligator is a boss. I always run ahead and wait for him to eat the canister and blow his head off so to me he’s easy, but he’s alot harder in Darkside Chronicles in my opinion.

I hate Tabuu. Especially in boss battle mode on intense difficulty when his attacks do 80% percent damage and KO’s you instantly… it felt pretty good to trophify his arse! And nice new username by the way lmao.

Okay, adding this on:

Bioshock Infinite: 1999 mode Handyman bosses. Fucking, insane. I got lucky at the last one though, his AI glitched and made him hold completely still and not attack, but the second to last one…oh god…it was absolute torture.

Dark Souls’ Four Kings NG+ boss battle was impossible for me… or at the character build I was using in my platinum run.

And MGS2 Metal Gear Ray battle on Extreme was daunting as well. Phew.

ninja gaiden 2 i think it is….when you fight that samurai on the horse on that wooden bridge…….i forget his name and i totally put that game down after that, couldn’t even beat it on normal…yeah ninja gaiden is def the hardest game i ever played….. well let me fix that, the hardest linear campaign i have ever played…And dont you dare try to say all it is , is button mashing because it is not

Final Fantasy 9 – Ozma
his Curse and Meteor abilities as well as a Curaga spell make him hard as hell.

Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? – Sir Sweet, second phase
the fact that u can’t even stun him makes him one of the most lucrative bosses of all time. i still haven’t been able to beat Prinny Baal in that game.

Kingdom Hearts – Kurt Zisa
during the battle when your magic gets locked out, you’re stuck with healing items and your own power. i barely got through this boss with just a little bit of HP to spare and all my items were used up. i really thought i wasn’t gonna beat it.

Kingdom Hearts II – Cloud, Leon, Tifa & Yuffie (proud mode)
During the Hades Cup tournament, you have to fight all 4 of these characters at once with Sora, alone and without drives or summons in the Semifinals. Getting through this fight took some real skill and an awful lot of defense.

You get it after having a 3 billion+ grand total score for being a member for 3+ years or alot higher score is required for short time members. I just got it in December since I’m a total noob and took me forever to get 3 billion. I made this thread here first by the way then brought it over to FFR. :p

I agree with the last boss in Resident Evil II and when you have to fight Velgauder Sigma (Sigma’s 2nd and final form) in Megaman X.

@Evolution1: As hard as Sigma’s 2nd form is, I actually find it more annoying than difficult because of what you have to do to affect him. You have to be in the Rolling Shield form as no other one will work, you have to be on the claws to hit him, and using the Rolling Shield protection (when you have the blue forcefield around you) means nothing because any of his attacks will take it away. And each hit takes off a lot of your health. So its really annoying as they make it as impossible as they can to defeat him in my opinion considering all of this although you can obviously veat him eventually if you’re patient enough to try a lot of times.
