Possibly my favorite Horner score. I wish there was even a whisper of the complete score, but I’ve never seen / heard anything

I already own this, but wanted to add my thanks for sharing. More people should know about and appreciate this score. I think it’s one of his most underrated and I would easily list this in my top 2 or 3 favorite Horner scores.

I’d pay through the nose for a complete release of Casper. The Rocketeer and Sneakers as well. I just got the extended and/or sessions from FFshrine for The Perfect Storm, Spiderwick Chronicles, and Bicentennial Man – I’ve been listening to them the last couple of days and they are all so fantastic. Such bliss. People can say what they will about Horner, but his ability to transition from "taut intensity" to "quiet grace" is absolutely amazing.

Fuck the haters, this is one of Horner’s best scores. "Casper’s Lullaby" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard.

Sorry, thought the Filmtracks review opinion was more widespread (basically, Casper’s Lullaby was the only good piece, the rest of the score was derivative and forgettable, and the reviewer committed the unpardonable sin of insulting Little Richard, wondering why anyone would sit through his rendition of the cartoon theme). The reviewer seemed like the score equivalent of The Cinema Snob.

Screw him, any excuse for Little Richard to be involved with anything is a good one.

That, and also the Film Score Monthly opinion that ONLY Danny Elfman is allowed to write gothic comedy music. Horner isn’t allowed and ripped Elfman off.

Right…
