Comic Con has the celebrities, professionalism, fans, and casual appeal that I think I would have enjoyed. Either I can wait it out and see if ticket resale comes up or go ahead and book myself for another convention this year.
I thought about Anime Expo but I donβt know if it is right for me. I like anime and consider myself a casual fan. I donβt cosplay or claim myself as an otaku. Anime Expo does seem fun with all the fan support but it lacks everything else that I wanted from Comic Con. I have never been to one, but that was from what I have read. If I am wrong to think that, let me know.
I like video games, comics, anime, movies and I know there are a lot of conventions or expos dedicated to those categories. I am going to PAX East next month so I need other conventions to keep me occupied for the rest of the year.

and my favorite
Sakura-Con (http://www.sakuracon.org/)
I got dragged to it by my daughter a few years ago. I really enjoyed it alot.
Its not just anime in content. I got to meet a guy starting up his own self publishing site.
Got to meet some really cool voice actors as well as SmileDK a few years ago.
Was really worth it, but its really big. Weβre talking like 3,000+ people.

I have heard a lot about Sakura Con. Unfortunately it will conflict with Pax next month. I will have to shelf Sakura for next year then.
