SYNOPSIS

The Majestic is a 2001 American drama film, directed by Frank Darabont and starring Jim Carrey and Laurie Holden.
Set in 1951, a blacklisted Hollywood writer gets into a car accident,
loses his memory and settles down in a small town where he is mistaken for a long-lost son.
The film features a supporting cast of Martin Landau, David Ogden Stiers, James Whitmore, Bob Balaban, Jeffrey DeMunn, and Hal Holbrook; Filmed in Ferndale, California.

THE SOUNDTRACK

This complete soundtrack consists of 50’s period tracks such as Nat ‘King’ Cole’s "Orange Colored Sky", "I Remember You" and "Paper Doll" by the Mill’s Brothers.
Jim Cox and The Spencer Wyatt Big Band supply the bouncy Blues tracks "Aunt Hagar’s Blues", "Blues In The Bucket" and "Boogie Woogie Stomp".
Mark Isham plays the haunting piano score (repeatedly through the film) in tracks such as "Stan Finds Luke", "Luke And Adele", "I Will Never Truly Leave You" and "The Girl With All The Answers".

I’ve also included a few oddities from the film "Klaatu" and "Gort, The Visor, The Telescope" (from 1951 The Day the Earth Stood Still) .

The `film within a film` "Sand Pirates of the Sahara", uses music from classic Hollywood films, scored by Erich Wolfgang Korngold:
"Love Theme" and "Mysterious Voyage" – "Between Two Worlds" (1944 film version),
"Jealousy" – Of Human Bondage (1946), "Fight in the Dark" – "Sea Wolf" (1941) and
"Horseback Riding" – "Captain Blood" (1935).

Included in this version is a special mix of "Sand Pirates of the Sahara";
recreated from some of Korngold’s original soundtracks.

All in all, it’s an interesting soundtrack.

A truly FANTASTIC share, one of my most favorite films, Jim Carrey should have won a best actor academy award, but was totally passed over on this film ( the reason being, according to the academy, that he was "trying too hard to win an oscar"!!?!?!?!?!) SERIOUSLY?

If you have not seen this film, people, PLEASE do yourself a big favor, and watch it. It’s a nice romantic drama, based on true facts from the 1950’s and the whole commie scare from Senator McCarthy, and the Hollywood black list terror, that affected everyone, even Lucille Ball! (fact!) I’m just glad that we don’t have anything like that in Hollywood today, just in the US (with the whole ‘Patriot Act’ witch hunt going on!)

I fully agree. Jim Carrey was just wonderful in one of his few non comedic roles.

Agreed, guys. I just wish we had a better source to pull the soundtrack off. And speaking of which, it is rediculous that this question must even be asked, but WHY, after SIX YEARS of the format existing, has ‘The Majestic’ never been released on blu ray?? And yet the studios simply MUST give us Butterfly Effect 2, Halloween 5, BloodRayne 2: Deliverance, Queen of the Damned, and Dragon Wars: D-War! Unfathomable.

Is there a possible re-upload for this soundtrack? That’d be awesome

– Good news, I was able to identify the last 19 seconds of "Sand Pirates" as "Horseback Riding" from "Captain Blood" (1935).
– Also I identified the majority of the missing music "Love Theme" and "Mysterious Voyage" from "Between Two Worlds" (1944 film version) .
– But believe it or not, I finally identified the last 5 seconds of missing music "Fight in the Dark" from "Sea Wolf" (1941).
