Holy crap. That is spooky. I was listening to Crusher Joe last night (the horrible circulating rip) thinking a) "Now if there’s a score that I’d really love to upgrade to FLAC, it’s this one" and b) I’d love to hear the OST recording again which I lost in a disc crash a few years ago and could never find again… then I turned off my computer and went to bed. An hour later I had a weird dream where I was conducting Crusher Joe in the Royal Albert Hall – I woke up, went to the loo, couldn’t get back to sleep, turned on my computer, and noticed Herr Salat had posted something (…)
Crazy or what???

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (YAS), usually a character designer, was also director for the anime films Crusher Joe, Arion, and Venus Wars. Joe Hisaishi did the soundtrack for Arion and Venus Wars. Venus Wars never got a symphonic suite re-recording. Not that it needed one, since Arion is a much better score.
Crusher Joe, the film from the 90s (and the two part OVAs, score by Keiichi Oku), is highly recommended by old anime fans. I haven’t watched it, but its score is typically science fantasy good (Just look at the cover), score by Norio Maeda, also known for his arrangement of Gradius Classic I, Act I (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3 Fv%3DGiniWoNE_kM&session_token=JIyiHWoo8U5CXyFWzAWZYeCLw7Z8MTM1OTI2 MjY1N0AxMzU5MjQ4MjU3). The only connection to Star Wars (and the recent discussion about) is it’s big orchestra and sci-fi. Even the other score I shared, Message from Space 1978 (!), can stand on its own. I think I need to check out more sci-fi scores. They really have a high batting average, haven’t they? :’D
The Symphonic Suite and OST were originally released in 1994. This is Victor Entertainment’s first special 2 disc soundtrack re-release under the "殿堂TWIN" label. So, there is an ugly frame. I’ve provided links with the frame cut out, though, since the covers are really beautiful.
The track names on the Symphonic Suite are translated in English. The booklet notes which tracks on the Original Soundtrack correspond to the tracks on the Symphonic Suite in English, but a full translation of the track name itself is still needed. I just don’t have the time right now. There’s is a romanization available, though from an old MP3 rip. Thanks to the original uploader :’D
The fast Gamefront link has messed up tags and has a folder called "iPod" in the Symphonic Suite folder. Please delete it. It’s just MP3 -v0 files for my MP3 Player ^^" For the fast tagging, use the function "Paste Tags" with mp3tag or the like. I have added an additional ADrive link which has none of these issues.
I actually bought this because the available MP3 rip on BakaBT is pretty bad. So, someone who’s a Power User on BakaBT and is interested, could add these lossless rips on BakaBT.
