I there a way for me to delete the thread in the anime section?

You can’t. Not directly anyway.

Only moderators and admin can close and delete threads – all you can do is try asking a mod or admin to close it for you.

What Enkidoh said. Jessie is the mod for that section and he is also an administrator so you should probably ask him.
