Excellent share!
This music is so soothing, so melodic!
In one word: classical!
I fully agree with Rolf Smedvig’s
concise intro and his conclusion:
"The (this) music is timeless."
My only complaint: He forgot
to mention the most important thing:
"Modal music is based on a system of
eight modes devised by the ancient Greeks".
I think that no one should miss this album.
Phideas, your choises are incomparable.
Many thanks once again.

"The music itself hints and harkens back to something much older, a glimpse of high old wizards at the dawn of time, a sense of the earth and the glory revealed in nature."

Somehow I think the late author Robert Holdstock would recommend this recording as background music while reading his superlative mythic-fantasy book Mythago Wood and its excellent sequel Lavondyss.

A Medieval Christmas, which was posted earlier as part of my Christmas collection, would make a perfect companion piece.
