Paraphrasing T.S. Eliot, you came back "with a bang"!
And now, here it is! You’re a lifesaver!
Except . . . I CAN’T GET TO IT! The stupid FileFactory site won’t recognize any captcha codes. At all. I even tried signing up with them, and I can’t do that either, because—surprise!—it requires a captcha code for that as well. And it won’t recognize any of those entries either. Unbelievable.
So, once again, the treasure lies within sight, but just out of reach. AAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!
That being said, 320 is better than what I had before and your uploads are always appreciated, erich. Thanks for sharing!
The 1990’s expanded has alternates, the 80’s OST has album versions and concert version.
The musical "picture" you get with the 80’s OST is lighter than the somewhat darker film score

Hmmm….ok im under the impression now that it’s different that the 2002 version. But it seems as if the differences aren’t all that major. Thanks.
The 8-track version above is almost entirely made up of concert versions that cannot be found on the 2002 release. By contrast, all 18 tracks of the extended version released in 1996 are present on the 2002 version. There are some small differences between the 1996 and the 2002 however. The 2002 release has a number of micro-edits throughout and some tracks fades in or out at a different speed than on the 1996.
I heard that some tracks on the 96 had alternates, like "Searching for ET"
The "over the moon" piano intro in the end credits of the 1996 issue is accompanied by woodwinds. It begins with a woodwinds and horn passage instead of diving right into the "Over the moon" piano solo in the 2002 reissue. Much better in my opinion. It’s the main reason I’m downloading this.
However, it seems like the more I collect The more I want.
Does anybody have links to the two CD release "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" The Expanded Motion Picture score; Lost Scores LS65679 CD (2012), CD 1 = 32 tracks (60:11), CD 2 = 12 tracks (61:16). For promotional purpososes only. not for sale?
It seems like I got have it too!
@ Don’t know what you mean by contrast unless you explained it in the sentences afterwards. But it’s ok. Guess I’ll find out once I get it if the links still work which hopefully they do.
If you need some comments before download E.T., one of the greatest scores of all time, then you must be pretty new to film scores…

DOOOooood . . . the only version available any more (or so it seems) is the expanded/anniversary edition. NO ONE carries the OST anymore—and this is one case where the OST is just as valuable. It contains mostly concert versions of the pieces, not the film versions; but these are some of the best concert-style versions Williams ever recorded (particuarly "E.T. and Me," which is an absolute gem). I used to have the OST in cassette, but it broke down some years ago—likely from overplay—and I’ve been trying to track it down on CD or digital file ever since.

New additional link in the original post 🙂
So I still can’t access it. Any other possibilities?

Wait! Forget it! In a final act of desperation, I tried the first link again—and the captcha worked this time! I downloaded it successfully.
Lest you think too many of us are ungrateful. . . .
THANK YOU!!!
Seriously, you’ve given me something I’ve been searching for since . . . well, half of forever, it feels like. You’re the best.
Actually, they’re pretty major, especially in the first three tracks of the OST. "Abandoned and Pursued," for instance, is a longer piece, and the bombastic bursts at the end of it follow each climactic phrasing (as a sort of echoed response) rather than happening simultaneously with them, as was the case in the film and the anniversary release of the score. The OST, however, is worth acquiring for the third piece alone ("E.T. and Me"). It’s one of the most beautiful and elegant pieces John Williams ever composed and conducted, and because it’s a concert arrangement it’s available nowhere else but the OST.
If you’re a Williams purist, and want the best of everything he has to offeror if you just love great musicthen trust me when I say you don’t want to pass up on the opportunity to get the OST.
Any chance getting new links?
great post as usual.
And the links seem to work fine. Just as with many filehosters you have to be careful what to click and what not to.
Does anyone by any chance have the MCA 20th Anniversary Edition with 21 Tracks? Is that the longest official release? Or how do they differ?
Any chance getting new links?
I’m, sorry to report that in post#1, the link to file factory trial.rar – download now for free. File sharing. Software file sharing. Free file hosting. File upload. FileFactory.com (http://www.filefactory.com/file/6zstbuvraejv/) downloads a file "trail.rar.exe" that is flagged by NAV. It contains the WS.Reputation virus.
One important clue is that the link says the fle is 151.19MB, but what downloads is 303KB.
Any chance of a repost?
and everything is fine.
and everything is fine.
For "non registered" or "Slow" downloads, it always selects the "Download Manager".
I tried selecting "Download Options" but that’s only available for Premium users.
Any other way to turn off that trash?
1) Press "Download" in the red box.
2) Wait 30 seconds.
3) Uncheck "Download with FileFactory’s download manager".
4) Press "Click here to download now" in the red box.

It must be an IE8 browser issue because I get no checkbox next to "Download with FileFactory’s download manager".
*UPDATE* It’s confirmed. FileFactory and IE8 do NOT play together well.
They have a serious bug that needs to be fixed.
You can see other people complaining about it =>
