Composers: Hiroshi Fujioka, Noriyuki Iwadare, Isao Mizoguchi

Here is the OST for Warsong (a.k.a. Langrisser) recorded from the headphone jack of a Model 1 Genesis with a VA6 revision motherboard. (Technically from the line-outs of an attached Sega CD.) Audio was captured using a Behringer U-Phono UFO202 and Audacity 2.0.1. Aside from some volume optimization, this is raw audio straight from an actual console, no emulation. Each looping track was allowed to play twice, then given a 10-second fade-out. Tracks are named and ordered according to the VGM files.

Total time: 19:56
Archive: 138 MB RAR w/recovery record, no password (The Goat says NO to passwords!)
Ripped by The Iron Goat on November 26-29, 2012

Update 3-19-13: Renamed the files and reuploaded them to MediaFire. Also made an MP3 set (LAME, maximum quality settings).

Here’s a re-up with appropriate tags and track order:

FLAC (http://www.sendspace.com/file/43gufd)
MP3 V0 (http://www.sendspace.com/file/zy7ocv)

or

FLAC (http://www.peejeshare.com/files/363436370/lngssrhrdwrfl.rar.html)
MP3 V0 (http://www.peejeshare.com/files/363436383/lngssrhrdwrm3.rar.html)

Artist: Noriyuki Iwadare, Hiroshi Fujioka, Isao Mizoguchi
Date: 1991

To the left are Goat’s track numbers, to the right are mine:

01 = 01 – Opening
16 = 02 – Theme of Langrisser
13 = 03 – Prologue
07 = 04 – Player Army 1
06 = 05 – Player Army 2
09 = 06 – Player Army 3
10 = 07 – Enemy Army 1
08 = 08 – Enemy Army 2
12 = 09 – Enemy Army 3
14 = 10 – Scenario Ending
11 = 11 – Game Over
02 = 12 – Ending 1
03 = 13 – Ending 2
04 = 14 – Unused Take 1
05 = 15 – Unused Take 2
15 = 16 – Unused Take 3

I changed the album name to the original title, Langrisser. I added Hiroshi Fujioka to the artist tag, based on the vgmdb info. The track titles and order are based on the official OST vgmdb info, but translated differently to my own liking ("Own Army BGM 1" is now "Player Army 1", "Unpublished Take 1" is now "Unused Take 1", and so on).

I kind of regret not putting each composer to their appropriate tracks, instead of having all their names on all the tracks. I mean, that info is on the OST and on vgmdb and everything. It’s just, meh. Oh well. Most people probably don’t care. I’m going to change it for my collection though, and if I re-up again it will be fixed.

No problem, MP3s are up now. I’m planning to re-rip this at some point in the future along with Langrisser II. I’ve included a test file that indicates how Warsong sounds at 24/96.

Good news – I’ve re-ripped this at 24/96. The updated rip is here: Thread 130333
You can also check out Warsong’s Japan-only sequel here: Thread 130814

I’ve been trying to replace all of my old 16/48 rips with new, higher-quality ones. Unfortunately, I stilll have these old threads hanging around. I really should go back and edit these to redirect them to the newer rips.
