Not a download, per se, but a link to hear Neil Finn’s song at the end of The Hobbit:

Neil Finn Reaches Epic Heights on ‘Song of the Lonely Mountain’ Song Premiere | Music News | Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/neil-finn-reaches-epic-heights-on-song-of-the-lonely-mountain-song-premiere-20121112)

Downloaded and converted to 256kbs until a proper release comes avaliable. Feel free to include this in any of the numerous Hobbit threads that have already popped up.

Thanks a bunch, mate.

Now I would desire the extended version of this piece, if you’ve got that…

I pre-ordered The Hobbit Complete Score today and this was available immediately from it. Thought I’d share it will all of you wonderful people. This is the highest bit-rate VBR encoding of the song (I had to re-encode it without any metadata so it isn’t tracked by copyright company) which means it’s slightly less than the original but only by 1.5mb. Enjoy!

I really dig it, but it reminds me of Simon and Garfunkle. That’s by no means a diss as I love Simon and Garfunkle. I’ll have to see what else Neil Finn has done.

Cheers,

Neil Finn is part of a rather legendary band from NZ (by way of Melbourne) called Crowded House. His first band was the awesome Split Endz, but he and his brother made a new for themselves with Crowded House. If you want a place to start, the Best Of album, Recurring Dream, is a good place to start.

Gah. "…made a name for themselves" is what I meant to say. But nevertheless, you’re quite welcome!
