Square’s been making up for their weaker, more vanilla piano albums of the old days in a big way lately, and this is probably one of the better ones. Not quite Hamauzu quality, but Casey Ormond turns in some gorgeous, varied and thoroughly pianistic arrangements, and he’s come a long way from the somewhat straightforward piano work for the Valkryia Chronicles series.

Cheers mate, this one seems to be working nice and dandy. I actually asked multiple people just now to see if the gamefront link works for them and it seems it does. I guess I have some issue with Gamefront as no matter what file I try to download, the download never starts, always error 403.

Many thanks for the mediafire mirror. I can’t believe iTunes gives this the genre tag "Instrumental" though. Just in case anyone is anal like me and likes all game music to be tagged "Game".

Now that I’m off work, I got to take a run through the album.

I love that piano collections found their missing number.

Aside from the unexpected track decisions like, Lowtown, and not more popular themes like Ozmone or Giza, I found some tracks like Eryut Village having only little resemblance to the original.

Personally I’d like tracks 10 and 12 redone, and tracks 7 and 11 completely taken off.

I LOVE it that Battle on the Big Bridge wasn’t included seeing as overplayed it is on other albums.

Would have loved Ozmone, Desperate Fight, The Fcking Boss Theme, Seeking Power, Phon Coast, Salika, and Mosphoran Highwaste, along with many more.

As for the other tracks on the album that I didn’t mention, my feelings range from acceptable (Like Tracks 01 and 06) to love (Like tracks 03, 04, 08, 09) for certain tracks.

I believe the track choice is because of the existing fan-made Piano album that had all the music from the released sheets. Most of the tracks from here are those that weren’t on the sheets and those that repeat are quite a bit different.

The only one I really wanted was Theme of the Empire and it’s in here so I’m set with this + the fanmade Piano OST.

I doubt it. Isnt this only an Itunes Digital Release? I always prefer Bandcamp/physical rather than this but… If we only have this, enough for me ^^.

I dunno if this is the case because i havent listened it "fully" (only 2-3 spinnings) but its interesting thinking in this, �dont you think so?

FLAC or lossless rips of any kind for this will reach the internet for certian, its just a matter of time for that 1st person to share. I’d just prefer sooner than later as I’m crazy about gaps.

As my critique towards the album itself goes… its kind of meh in a I-still-love-it-for-being-12 way. I listened through the album once out of shear eagerness and promptly deleted it because I don’t do lossy for my collection.

I think they reprinted the OST because it’s been 6 years. The solo FFXII CD release comes in a slipcase (it doesn’t in the combo release). The slipcase is prob a first press thing only.

this site doesn’t have this particular release of FFXII Piano Collections sheet music tho, it has the game soundtrack version.

The one that just came out is just an album, they didn’t release a sheet for it.
