They’re not overhyped, they’re professionals. Its Andrew Skeet that let you down or possibly x5 Music "group"
Orchestra groups around the world are just paid to play what they’re told to. How things turned out is usually based on the sponsor, or the conductor, rather than the musical group on their own. Of course I’m really just guessing here… Maybe Cello player #2 and Viola girl #3 really pull the strings (get it?!) behind entire operation behind the curtians o:

The orchestration here is top notch no doubt…its just the chorus of the first song which just killed my interest..
They really need to train their choir…the choir didnt hit the musicality that Lorne Balfe intended
At the very last part when the choir came in..it didnt had the sense of depression (not sure whether depression is suitable)
Their just like getting the notes right and dont even bother to even express the notes…
haha but it is still a really good album 🙂 Cheers
YES!
And to the poster a little above, yes, I agree, One Winged Angel is pretty overdone.
Still, with all that said, it’s a great improvement on the first album. I enjoyed it a lot more. Overall more good choices than bad ones. Let’s hope Vol. 3 steps it up a notch.
Ah and one more thing: That cover looks stupid (even more so when there’s no music from a Modern FPS on the album!). How about a cover with a famous video game icon somebody wrote a Symphonic Poem for 😉

First of all, cover says it’s the London PHILHARMONIC Orchestra, not the London Symphony. If this was performed by the LSO, this would go down as one of the worst recordings i’ve ever heard from them. I am thankful it wasn’t the LSO.
The mixing in this album was absolutely horrendous. Just listen to One Winged Angel, snare hits, cymbal crashes, chime hits can barely be heard. Even the normally bright sounds of the brass are extremely flat and boring. This is true for every track.
The performances were all mediocre as well. I’m not saying the LPO is bad because they’re not. But everything just sounds very uninspired. Could be conductor’s fault as well. Although, the bad mixing probably contributed to this uninspired sound as well. Very disappointing album.
The best track on the album is Super Metroid. Skyrim is worth mentioning as well. I was looking forward to the Chrono Trigger one, but the arrangement just wasn’t doing it for me. The Portal song is out of place here, if i wanted the vocal version i’d just get the original version. But overall the terrible mixing is the biggest fail on this album.
I give this 2 out of 5
Yeah, is it possible for a re-upload?
