Saw this film before I knew there was a Gabriel Yared, so can’t remember the score. Do remember this artist who existed under the shadow of Rodin. Will be interested in revisiting its score. Thank you.

Thanks for your kind words Sanico, she�s only 5 months, and she already like James Horner… but for sleeping, seriously, she never fails to fall asleep with a Horner score.

And yes Claudel was such a great sculptor, but she had a troubled life, specially with her involvement with Rodin, and eventually that lead her to insanity, what a shame, she was a wonderful artist.

A great performance by Isabelle Adjani, and a wonderful score by Yared, you can almost feel her pain and agony with his music, truly great.

I am listening to this score as I write it, and it’s beautiful. I saw the film on VHS probably back in the 90s sometime, and want to see it again. The score so effectively conveys the bittersweet and sad story of the title character. This IS a rare score too; the Yared compilation album that contains Claudel is very expensive on Amazon. So thanks for posting this.
