An earlier Rachel Portman score, and one where she joined an orchestra punctuated with traditional Chinese intruments, employing both western and eastern instrumentation colours, much in the same vein of her last year score Snow Flower and the Secret Fan (Thread 94067).
The main theme, first heard in ‘The Story Of The Swan’, is delicate and hauntingly beautiful, and is frequently used and varied throughout the score.
