The Uninvited is arguably the BEST ghost movie ever made in Hollywood. Character driven, funny, British, atmospheric, Charles Lang’s great photography, a hypnotic score that plays like a piano concerto, and just flat out spooky. It’s main theme became the famous jazz standard STELLA BY STARLIGHT.
Sadly the film only made it to VHS (no longer available) and never to DVD. Madness. Also sadly, this is a rerecording that doesn’t come close to the original score as heard in the film. But it is all we have. The recording does have an unexpected bonus, the music from Max Fleischer’s classic GULLIVER’S TRAVELS cartoon.

Me, too. I saw the film in the late 1970s, and the version I now watch is a home-made DVD ripped from an old VHS TV copy. Yes, the music is lovely and should be re-heard. I would like to hear your presentation.
