Final Fantasy Versus?

What does anyone think about Final Fantasy Versus? How come its not releasing, articles have been released about it but it still haven’t been in any news or stock. ???? "Y U NO RELEASE VERSUS"

Unfortunately, Square Enix have been rather quiet as to what’s exactly been happening with FFvsXIII – recently they made an announcement that it was indeed still in production, but as to when exactly it’s due to be released, is anyone’s guess. There’s even been rumours that the game has actually been cancelled and development shifted to FFXV, but SE came out and discredited them, and said the game is still in production.

From what I last read a few months ago, it’s at about 30% completion, so don’t expect for quite a while yet.

Because of the long waiting, I think Square Enix should use the next-gen engine that showed in E3 2012 in Final Fantasy Versus, if not many fans will be very angry.

*Tetsuya Nomura got bored: I’ll never believe that the developing is taking a lot of time. A good example is Call of Duty, every game realesed for PlayStation 3 has amazing graphics and it didn’t take so long to be developed.

*Square Enix is waiting for Kingdom Hearts (HD Remix: 1.5) and Lightning Returns realeses: The company will get tons of attention, so everyone will be interested in Final Fantasy: Versus XIII realese.

*TN and SE are waiting for the next-gen home consoles: Better graphics for the game and the presentation of their new graphic engine.

More than likely they’ll wait for the next generation of consoles to release a hoped for ‘big hit’.

Didn’t they just release a statement about it still being in development? I’ve lost interest in FF and fell utterly in love with DragonQuest!

I believe it is to be released this year, at least that is what I heard from a possible inside source on NeoGAF, (although third hand information is not always reliable of course). As far as I heard it is a possibility it could be ready for Autumn of this year or january of next year. Make of that what you will. 🙂

Maybe Kingdom Hearts (HD Remix: 1.5) is being upgraded (old games+better graphics) right now, that means that Tetsuya Nomura is not working on Final Fantasy: Versus XIII for now.

Nothing but people didn’t care about all that stuff, PSVita is not selling well and it’s more powerful than the 3DS. Maybe Microsoft will realese a weaker console but it will sell a lot better than Wii U and Sony’s next home console.

I don’t know about you guys but I’d feel a bit betrayed if that happened. If they release the game for both PS3 and 4 that would make sense but taking it off the PS3 doesn’t feel right after so much of a development time.

It hasn’t been in development that long. Sure, we first heard about it back in 2006, but they didn’t enter full development until the end of 2011, that’s only a year and a half ago. I really doubt they’ve been working on a ps3 game in that time. They just never told us it would be on the ps4 because it wasn’t revealed yet.

Basically this…stop assuming it was for the PS3 when there was never a released date for the PS3. It was just assumed upon, one should never assume. I’m not against the time it’s taken from the announcement to now as Squares better titles took quite a bit of time.

Diablo 3 took 12 years to develop and it fell from grace since it failed everyone’s expectations. Not the only case, mind you. But the fact remains that people have been waiting for this game for very long and will expect more and more from it as the time passes.

It doesn’t really matter how it turns out. The obvious mistake on their part was revealing the game too soon which led to nothing good.
For me it only means that if it’s on PS3 I’ll buy it, if it not, I’ll just watch a let’s play.

That would be true no matter which system it was on. Revealing it so early was always a mistake, it being on the ps4 now doesn’t change that. As for not buying it if it’s on ps4, all ps3 games are going to stop soon after the ps4 comes out. That’s the way it works, new games will be made for new systems, so the same could be said about every other game out there that’s made for the ps4.

We’ll see what future brings. I just don’t wanna invest into the new system. I might shift the life’s priorities to leave gaming out completely. There comes the time for everyone when they’ve had enough. Even now it’s hard for new games to captivate me and I pretty much stick to only 3 or 4 franchises.

I actually wouldn’t mind if they created 2 versions of the game for PS3 & PS4 but the PS4 version better have increased graphics and everything or its completely useless. But still it’s taking a huge amount of time to create isn’t it?
