The extremely rare Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Score for Steven Spielberg’s first big hit. Composed by Billy Goldberg.
"Duel" (1971) was Steven Spielberg’s public debute as a film director. It was a TV movie based on a story by Richard Matheson that appeared in Playboy Magazine. The story is very simple: David Mann (Dennis Weaver) has an appointment but encounters an old tank truck, he decides to overtake it. The trucker then begins his deadly game. The music was composed by Billy Goldenberg and captures the primal emotions of the film really well. ‘Duel’ and its music are property of Universal Pictures

Rejoice and make your comment!!
It’s kinda’ like "Psycho" meets Columbo (circa 1973) sort of sound I guess. Intense and fun–like the TV film itself!
That suite, that’s the re-recorded suite from that Speilberg compilation a couple years ago, right?

If you are referring to the Silva Screen Compilation from 2005 (re-recorded with THE CITY OF PRAGUE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, various conductors), no, it’s not. There’s just one track ("The Caf/Truck Attack" – 5’08”), but here we have a suite of 21’47”.
And according to soundtrackcollector.com, there is no other official release of any music from "Duel" other than that one. I assume, both the 16 track "private release" and the one-track-suite in this upload are bootlegs? Anyway, it’s great to have the music in any form, at least until an official release will be coming along.

this is either a rip from a rear channel DAT or rear channels on the 5.1 dvd audio. You can hear effects!
The suite is identical to the separate cues – same effects, etc, except the cues are blended together.
I really hate these bullshit "private recordings," and nobody calls them out on it. If it’s a dvd rip from the rear channels, just say so.
The theatrical film dvd score would run 32 minutes, while this one runs 22 minutes. Either it’s missing music, or ripped from the TV version.
Thank you for the information, sadsack.
