I’m currently working on a bootleg for Curse of the Black Pearl, which people have probably heard countless times before. But what sets mine apart is that i put a lot of time into editing the non-sfx cues into the movie audio, and not just off the OST, but off of composer’s websites and even any other bootlegs that have no sfx in it (with the author’s permission, of course). Yes, this includes Takeshi’s bootleg. Also, unlike most people, I don’t speed the music up and put the pitch higher, i leave it at it’s normal speed and pitch. But if copyright comes to get me for that, I’ll have to tamper with it. Also, I go in and mess with the track’s audio, so that it isn’t really quiet and really loud, but it all evens out, and you don’t have to keep adjusting that volume bar.

Even though I’m not finished, I’ll be putting some preview tracks on mediafire, if you want to get a feel for the new bootleg.

Sample 1: Bootleg.Preview.rar (http://www.mediafire.com/?eu7uq05rm324330)
Includes "Promotion Ceremony," "Aboard the Dauntless," and "Couldn’t Resist, Mate." Available in MP3

Sample 2: Coming Soon
Includes "One Last Shot," "Crossing Blades," and "Ambush at the Gallows." (Will Be) Available in MP3 and FLAC.

If you see any tracks on the list that say (Done) and you’d like to hear them in advance, PM me and I’ll feature in it in the next Sample.

If I get enough requests, I’ll upload in flac. It just takes a lot of time and space to do it, so for now, just mp3.

It’s not finished yet, but I’m working as fast as I can. You can always download the first sample, and I’ll try to get the second one up by tomorrow.

You wouldn’t have to work as fast as you can if you’d waited to make this thread until your work was completed. Now people are going to be waiting in anticipation, and since you now have them all metaphorically looming over your shoulder, you’ll feel rushed and your works may not come out as good as they might have had you just waited until you had more of this edit finalized.

I just don’t get the point of these "Under Construction" or "Work in Progress" threads, where the OP uploads samples every once in a while. Since you are fluent in English (unlike the last guy who used this tactic), can you explain to me what the benefits are of this style of presenting custom works/DVD rips compared to the more tried and true method of simply uploading a completed work all in one bundle?

You can get more people to know about your score, and have people follow you through it’s making.
I understand why people hate that this is a tactic that people use, because most people make it about 2 months in advance. but i have no school this week, so i’m literally working on this about 6 hours a day. So it’ll take two weeks at the most, probably aroudn the one week mark it will be available in mp3.
I do root for you, but this is my first thread. I’m kind of doing a trial and error thing, and whatever works best is what works best.

The problem of these types of work-in-progress threads, is that atracts many members complaining that there’s no music posted for download or say that it was stolen from their own custom rip and whatnot, and more often than not the original poster never end their rips. So for a variety of reasons these threads are locked

To Studio13Drew the topic will be closed, but you can request to reopen (or create a new thread), once you have finished your own rip with a link ready to share.
