This remains one of the top three or four versions of either concerto. Shaham has a full, singing tone, without any hint of sharpness, which works great in these pieces. You might want to try two other top recommendations for the Barber: Hahn/Wolf (Sony), with its chamber-like, transparent texture, and the classic Stern/Bernstein. In the Korngold, nothing else really compares with Shaham’s account.
