Thanks El Cid, Barber is one of my favorite American composers and the Adagio For Strings is one of the most beautiful, heart-rending pieces of music ever written ranking alongside the Adagietto from Mahler’s 5th Symphony for pure ethereal beauty in musical form.

You remember me why I like Barber so much. Thanks for sharing.

Oh yay! I’ve been in love with the Adagio For Strings ever since I heard it while playing Homeworld many years ago. And this version is longer, plus there’s other stuff! Never gotten a chance to listen to any more of Barber’s music; I’m definitely getting this! Thanks very much, El Cid. 😀
