My Top 50 Favourite Mega Drive Games

Over the course of the next fifty days I’ll be individually revealing my favourite Mega Drive games in order. I loved the Mega Drive; it was an amazing console and a really big part of my childhood and am looking forward to paying homage to it.

Well considering I’m revealing the games on a daily basis it’d be silly of me just to blurt the entire list out here. If you dont want to put in ‘extra effort’ of going to another website, don’t. I’m not telling you what to do or what not to do, I’m just saying this is what I’m doing, if you’re interested, look, if not, don’t. Simples. 🙂

I don’t have all of these games anymore, I barely have any actually, moving house a lot saw me get rid of most 🙁

I used a Wikipedia page and sifted through it to see what I’d played and there was a good 80-100 games there unbelievably 🙂

Okay. Will you put japanese Megadrive games in your Top or only Occidental ones?

Occidental ones I’m afraid, as I’ve not really played Japanese copies as I’m from the UK, it’s a biased list as well don’t forget 🙂

I did do this two years ago when I did my Top 50 Favourite Final Fantasy Characters piece, I didn’t get into trouble then, I’m not trying to get into trouble, I’m posting a new comment because it keeps the thread fresh; editing the first will make the thread drop down the page. 🙂

Just because people don’t reply it doesn’t mean no one cares. I happen to know that plenty of people do read my work, considering I’m closing in on 100,000 page views thank you very much.

Which brings me to my original point, I’m not pressurising anyone to read my work, I’m not demanding anyone view my work. If you’re interested, follow this thread, or view my site. If not, that’s fair enough. There’s no need to take offense, or cause offense to me daring make a thread about a video game console and its games on a forum dedicated to a very popular video game series, in a general gaming portal of that thread. I’m not stepping on toes, I’m promoting work that people may or may not find interesting. It’s as simple as that. 🙂

You don’t honestly think there are 41 better Mega Drive games than Micro Machines, do you? That game was a classic – the completely pointless ‘honk the horn’ button alone merits a Top 20 finish!

Anyway, if Castle of Illusion, Desert Strike, Quackshot, Ghouls ‘N’ Ghosts and Road Rash aren’t in your Top 20, you’ll be for the high jump. You’ve been warned 😀

I don’t think they did release Final Fight on the Mega Drive… and as for Sonic 3D I really like it, it gets a lot of stick and most of it is deserved, but underneath the "not 3D" elements is a very good game, or at least I think! 🙂

I do like however that the "most liked" comment is one that says "I actually quite liked MJ’s Moonwalker", that made me laugh 😀
