I think he loves his son, even if he cries so much.
Btw:Why does tidus cry so much?
Tidus cries all the time because of his mommy issues. He wanted to be more with his mother because she didn’t insult him or make him cry, but she always wanted to spend time with Jecht because she bought into the myth that he was a great guy. Then Tidus would cry because he wanted his mom, and Jecht would see this and taunt him about it, spurring his son to cry more.
And holy shit, spoony was right about him being a crybaby, but i think his dad went too far.I don’t hate tidus either. You should watch the review, its hilarious how much he hates tidus and FFX, unless he was exaggerating, but in one of his ultima reviews, he mentions Tidus, and starts rambling about his hatred for him, then again, i hate cloud and sephiroth because of the fanbase and square enix milking them to death, and it may be irrational.
I do think he gets a little better at the end, but not much. Also:Damm that person who killed auron is strong.

Now that i think of it, you might be right about tidus suffering from oedipus complex. He also one of the strongest characters.I can see why some people can’t stand him and his whining.

I think i can understand jecht’s personality. He seems a lot like your typical male who becomes competitive when there is another man around, and trash talks the other guy if he wins.Jecht is a winner, and his son isn’t, and he is disappointed.
I’ve known some very competitive people, they can be fun to play with, but can spoil the mood.
