A true legend in the making!

Though it doesn’t seems that the music for the end credits scene it’s here.

It actually makes up the better part of "Can You See Jane (10m64)". "Can You See Jane (10m64end)" would seem to be an alternate version, but what’s more surprising: the actual film version of "Earth to Asgard" is absent.

Correction: I made this post not realizing I was missing two tracks and when I used an iTunes script to rename the files the text sequence was naturally two cue shy. Therefore, the end credits would in fact be "Earth to Asgard (11m65)".

Seem to have a problem. Downloaded file and opened with Zipeg but getting an error message and the file won’t extract.

I re-downloaded and received even more errors than the first time. Fortunately the first download only reported two missing files, both of which I was able to extract in the subsequent re-download.

i’ve got 10 corrupted files upon opening, there seems to be a problem with the files?

and i’ve tried it the next time i dl’d, problems still persists

I have managed to extract all but # 64..Brothers Fight, but it has taken me about 5 tries to do so. I keep getting different tracks each time. That’s a bit weird, isn’t it?

I also notice that the archive is compressed to 79%.

Set "Compression Method" to "Store". This will compress to 100%, ie. 0 compression to the files.
Then go to the "Advanced" tab and click on "compression…" Set all to "Disable" and remove check marks from all boxes".

That will reduce the chances of CRC corruptions.

OK. After listening to almost the entire soundtrack, I have to say that that the Thor Complete Recording Sessions was by far one of the most enjoyable film scores that Patrick Doyle have ever composed since Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Curse you Voldy for killing a Cullen!!!!). When I was listening to the original film score, I thought Hans Zimmer or James Newton Howard have composed for a Marvel (Disney)/Paramount picture. Either Pat wants to join RCP or using too much of the taiko drums? All humor aside, I thought Doyle have done an excellent job on that soundtrack. Now that the complete recording sessions is here almost 24 hours ago, it’s even more enjoyable.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5.

because he may be new at all this, and likely has been burned by fakes and/or rips before, as we all have at one time or the other. Remember, if he doesn’t ask the question, he can’t know the answer.

No, this is everything – including what was included on the OST and the unofficial bootleg, as well as alternative cues.

In other words, it’s a complete film score.

So basically, between the 27 – track expanded score and these new – found, apparently unused music cues, which add up to almost 100 tracks…yeah, I can see how that would be a complete score, like what I found earlier today for Captain America – The First Avenger…somewhere around 120 tracks for everything…not bad

96kbs: The sound clearly lacks definition: as an example, hall’s noises are perceived as some breath. The result is comparable to a good FM radio.

112kbs: The sound seems less present and less natural than the original. The definition is a bit less good, the voice is less clear. Attacks are less spontaneous. The spatialization is different from the original recording: the sound seems to be located more far and more lower. There is however a very noticeable improvement compared to 96kbs.

128kbs: Hall’s noises are slightly less defined than the original. The violin is a bit less present and the piano attacks a bit less sharp. The voice is nearly identical to the original recording but sibilants are less pronounced. We can notice the same spatialization problem as with the 112kbs’s one although there is again a good improvement compared to the 112kbs rate.

160kbs: The sound is more natural than 128kbs but the improvement is less spectacular than during the two preceding stages. The sound is different from the original, without however being possible to tell in what. I think that the difference resides more in what we feel rather than in what we hear.

192kbs: The sound is not felt as the original recording. It is however totally impossible to tell in what.

256kbs: The sound is indiscernible from the original. It is impossible to make the difference with the original recording.

320kbs: The sound is indiscernible from the original. It is impossible to make the difference with the original recording.

CD Audio : The sound of the burned CD is strictly identical the manufactured CD. This test, although it could appear useless, is however necessary so in order to insure that it is impossible that the burning step introduces differences, that would have falsified tests.

It is clear that the 128kbs rate does not produce a quality equal to a CD on a good quality Hi-Fi installation. We can wonder if Fraunhofer’s institute has not made an error by limiting its ACM pro codec to 128kbs. However, in the context of a computer use, the quality is equal to the one obtained by reading an Audio CD on a CD-ROM reader. The quality at 128kbs is also indentical to the one obtained with the original CD on a mini or midi Hi-Fi installation, and on the vast majority of Hi-Fi installations in separated elements. The test equipment is indeed better than the majority of Hi-fi installations.

Conclusion : For a computer use, the 128kbs rate produces a quality equal to an audio CD. But in the case of an MP3 use in advanced Hi-Fi, it is necessary to use a 256kbs bitrate (ore better) to reach an identical result to the CD sound.

Perhaps someone with more attuned ears and a higher attention span can help me make heads or tails of this, as well as "Captain America" and "Avengers" I’m very grateful for Recording Sessions, but they always include all the alternates and for listening purposes I prefer straight film versions. Anyone narrowed down any of these and made a new tracklist? "Iron Man 2" has the same issue only worse, as it doesn’t even contain track names. Thanks to anyone who has any input at all.

Not always: some film pickups record entire cues again. You are technically right though: they re-record only part of the cue, normally with some variation, or maybe an entirely new section.
