Hey guys,

Have a question for fellow PS3 owners. I’m considering importing the RE6 Collection from Germany and as I understand, the DLC Redemption Codes will probably only be able to be redeemed in that region. How easy is it to set up another PSN in a region you’re not in? If you’ve done it, has it had any negative impacts on your PS3 or playing other or certain games?

Thanks for any insight you can give.

I have 3: My regular EU one, a US and a JP one. It’s incredibly easy to set up one in any region, all you have to do is change the language to the region you’re interested in. If you don’t understand the language in question, don’t worry there are plenty of videos on youtube that show the process step by step (I watched one to set up my JP account, there’s really no other way unless you can read Japanese). It will no negative impact whatsoever on your console or any of your games if you do it properly. The most important thing to note however that you should only download any DLC for the region the game is from. If you get a US game, download DLC for it from the US PSN store ONLY. That’s about it.

As for you wanting to import a game from Germany, I don’t think there will be a need to make specifically a German PSN account. As far as I know, every European country has access to the same store, much like Canada and the US both access the same store (NA). I’m not 100% sure however, you might want to ask someone who knows more about this stuff.

Thanks for the info, Smarty. Very glad to hear that there were no adverse affects to PS3. What you said about buying DLC from the region the game is from is what I figured would be the best thing to do. I usually don’t sell my games anyway, so that won’t be an issue.

I’ll do a bit more research, but overall, I’m still on the fence about getting RE6 Collector’s Edition. It looks great, but not sure it’s worth the money to spend on it. The info you provided gives me a better idea of whether I want to or not though. 🙂

I am surprised though; since when does Germany get the good version of anything?
