how do you do a DVD rip without loosing quality? I don’t have fancy programs and all that tech savvy

Use DVDfab, it’s updated frequently and you can run the BETA versions in trial mode.
Trial mode doesn’t limit you in anyway.
If you know where to look, you can find a "DVDfab trial resetter".

AnyDVD won’t allow you to use BETA versions in trial mode.

Or just… "any" version "if you know what I mean".

Use DVDfab to extract the video title with the audio you want. Remove all other audio formats and subtitles.
"DVD Ripper" is the option you want.
It will create the DVD movie to your hard drive — ALWAYS select to output as "DVD Folder" and NOT "DVD ISO" image!! — without encryption.
Now that it’s just the movie and the audio, unencrypted, use eac3to.

It’s a free program. A command-line tool, so you’ll have to run it in "CMD".

…here’s a few threads to read through and get an overall grasp of what you’re getting yourself into.

This task requires patience and competence.
And the methods offered by DVDfab and eac3to will give you bit-for-bit perfect results, as proven by the software developers who aim for quality reassurance.

BD methods apply to DVD as well.

DVD Audio Extractor has yet to be determined if it’s bit-for-bit perfect when extracting.
It now supports Blu-ray, but I’ve not seen anyone on the doom9 forums talk about it.
They tend to avoid those commercial shit program.
