The Family Man was a 2000 film about getting a second chance at life, with Nicolas Cage as a successful (and happily unmarried) businessman who wakes up one day to find himself with a wife and 2 kids.
Sire Records released a CD of pop vocals from the film, with only 2 tracks of Elfman’s score. Later, it was apparently felt the score might be good enough to win an Academy Award, so a FYC Academy Promo was also released with 27 tracks of Elfman’s instrumental music. In the end, the score wasn’t nominated for an Academy Award, though it did win the BMI Film Music Award in 2001.
I’ve also seen a 25-track version of this music (coupled with "Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion") with entirely different track titles! In the post that follows this one, jfm827 offers yet another set of track titles., apparently taken off an even rarer 33-track version. Take your pick!

Peeje sometimes sucks. The score was uploaded and a link obtained, then mysteriously deleted. That’s why I’ve started using additional links, which I hope will always come through.
It didn’t work for me either, but the second link worked just fine
I don’t know of a 28 track version of this promo. Are you sure there isn’t a song or a track from another movie somewhere in there? The real FYC disc that circulated back then was 27 tracks. There was also an extremely rare 33 track version that was made by Elfman’s agency that contained the real track names with reel IDs. I have never seen it anywhere online (nor do I have it myself), but I HAVE seen a scan of the cover for it, and that’s where this info comes from.
As you and I have both said repeatedly, the three versions that you’ve got have FAKE TITLES on them. In fact, I know the person who made those titles up, and can assure you that they are 100% fabricated, based on titles from OTHER Danny Elfman scores. You can’t look at the fake "Weepy Donuts" (track 16 on your version, should really be titled "4m3 – Asleep") and say that it doesn’t match up to the _real_ "7m4 – Weeping Donuts", which is track 27. They’re totally different cues and should not be compared like that.
I’ve never had the 50 track version you’re talking about, but I would guess that whomever originated that copied the titles from the 27 track version to the tracks that they could identify.
If you watch the movie, the titles correctly reflect the the story in the movie. Plus, there are reel IDs, which I think are impossible to "fake." The cover has Richard Kraft’s agency logo on it, and I’m not sure why anyone would fake that either.
Please upload the 50-track version.
Here is the 50-track Recording Sessions of THE FAMILY MAN in Mp3. It’s my understanding there are flaws, like some tracks cutting off at the end. I found this online some time ago. Since I did not originally upload it, I do not own the original copy. Therefore I cannot offer a better version.

Thank you, Yepsa.
thanks for the upload of the both versions of "Family Man". Unfortunately, the recording sessions have some damaged tracks but are all not so important or can’t be corrected since the source is damaged, too, I think. But tracks 23 and 43 end abruptly and I assume that this can be corrected if the source can be ripped again. Does somebody know if the source for the recording sessions in available?
Best regards
Pete
The link to the "Recording Sessions" (if that’s even what it is) is in message #26. This is something I found online and I’m re-sharing only because people have asked for it and the original link is dead. As previously mentioned, numerous tracks abruptly cut off at the end, so expect some disappointment.
