Did I miss out on Doomtrain and St-Def items?

f I did, it’s a real huge kick in the testes, because I really need "Status Defx4" & "Forbid Med-RF".

I’m on Disc 3 and I’m at the part where we’re going back to Esthar to rescue Shana… I… I mean Rinoa [Haha, see what I did there?].

Anyways, puns and RPG references aside, I also need to know if, at this point, I can still do the Card Queen quest… as I’ve read you can get 3 Status Guards [St-Defx4] from refining Doomtrains card, which apparently can only be obtained during the Card Queen quest.
Without St-Defx4 I might as well just set my memory card on fire, piss on it, and start all over… I know I can get a Status Guard from Shumi Village, but 1 just isn’t going to cut it.

The point where you’re at is the ideal part to do sidequests and get the remaining GFs. Go to the Sorceress Memorial and rescue Rinoa if you need her. You can still acquire Doomtrain at this point (in fact, I believe you can acquire him up until the end of the game). Go get Solomon’s Ring at Tears’ Point and use it when you have 6 Steel Pipes, 6 Remedy+’s (use Med Lvl Up), and 6 Malboro Tentacles. He learns Status Defx4.

If you missed Cerberus, who also learns Status Defx4, he can be acquired on Disc 4 by drawing him from a boss called Gargantua.

Also, I am almost 100% positive you can still do the Queen of Cards quest to get Doomtrain’s card at this point. If that quest will take you too long, I would recommend getting the items for Doomtrain, drawing Cerberus from Gargantua, and getting the Status Guard from Shumi Village. The boss Tiamat on Disc 4 also drops a Status Guard, too, so you can get another one that way.

From what I remember, can’t you get all the optional Guardian Force’s from the side bosses at the end of disk four?

You have to summon Doomtrain from Solomon’s Ring with the necessary items in order to obtain him, you can’t get him from the side bosses on disc 4. You also can’t get Brothers, Diablos, Bahamut, Cactuar, and Tonberry any other way than the way they’re supposed to be obtained.

Yeah I went to tears point and strangely it was still intact… and found the ring, so I’m good to go.
Now I’m just facing zells mother for Malboro cards to refine into tentacles.

tears points intact as well as the research facility, the tomb where u get Brothers,and the ruins where u get Odin, pretty much made the game so you can go back at any point no matter the progress and get the hidden gf. Can’t miss any gf, unless u didn’t want them.
