Disc 1, track 50 has an easter egg attached to it that is an early draft of Danny Elfman’s main theme for the original Batman Theme from the Tim Burton movie. Here is a link that separates that easter egg from track 50:

I ordered it too,and why? because off the great music and the fantastic 36 page booklet, thanks cleatus for the share!!! can wait to have it in the mail
i knew it! i knew alll that music couldnt be contained in just one disc.
does this have the iconic music from heart of ice? it better do!.
fuck yeah! it does
JonC
Uhh…it IS in MP3. It’s VBR, though, no 256 or 320 – which is actually better than those two, anyway
Thanks cleatus! 🙂
Just like my young kids…never satisfied…lol

Of course. There was 65 episodes in the original style run (before the art style changed — the period LLLR seperates the show, as well), and only 11 of them on Volume 1.
23 on Volume 2.
LLLR has stated they will not be releasing all 65. Volume 3 should be the last before they move on to the scores for the show when the art style changed.
23 + 11 = 34
65 – 34 = 31 left.
Assuming Volume 3 is 4CD’s as well and has 25 scores (I’ll assume there’s not a bunch with bonus stuff, like on Volume 2), that would mean:
Approximately six episode scores would not be released.

Hmm. Am I the only one who can’t extract it? Password doesn’t appear to work. I tried with a space after, and without.
It starts off with a church organ and plays after the Harley/Ivy theme around 12:20.
To the guy who loved the Heart Of Ice music, I love that too, but my favourite’s definitely the Beware The Gray Ghost intro. 🙂
That’s generally true, but I got Shirley Walker’s "Space: Above and Beyond" set and, while I like it, it doesn’t have quite the same hold over me as Mask of the Phantasm, which I know was recorded with a larger orchestra; hearing a smaller ensemble trying to sound "large" is a big turn-off for me. And while I like the music in B:TAS in context, that doesn’t necessarily translate to my enjoyment of the albums. (Yes, I’m neurotic. ) I wasn’t sure if it’d be worth shelling out $60.
I’ve been rewatching B:TAS lately, and I was worried that I wouldn’t hold up to my memories of rushing home after school, flipping on Fox Kids, and immersing myself in that universe, but I had absolutely nothing to worry about. As much as I like the Nolan trilogy, I think B:TAS is still the pinnacle of portraying the character outside the comics (where the apex is Dark Knight Returns, as far as I am concerned). I was pretty sure I was going to get this and the re-issue of Volume 1, but now I’m 100% certain. 🙂
Shirley Walker, you are sorely missed…
The scary aspect is played up better too, since like in Doom, they show he has all these plans to take out the whole league, if needed. And they are nasty plans at that…
I was actually already into my 20’s when these started. It took time to adjust to the animation style, but they just got the character sooo…"right" that I got hooked. The tradition continues with DC Nation, I love Young Justice, and GL animated. THAT is a score I am looking forward to and hope to snag. I could not affordd this set. But, in an abstract, 60 dollars for over 4 hours of unreleased music is actually a fair price. Too steep for me, but fair.
Please, could someone upload the four discs separately, maybe on mediafire? Thanks.
Please, could someone upload the three discs separately, maybe on mediafire? Thanks.
Link doesn’t even work for me. Another link would be awesome.
Please, could someone upload the three discs separately, maybe on mediafire? Thanks.
Yeah, same for me.
Heh.
Its working for me now, thanks.
Wasn’t working earlier throughout the day though. I’d either get some kind of error message, or it wouldn’t connect.
When the soundtrack is unavailable, there is no other way to get it so ok, but until then, please avoid to do it and let’s make sure all copies get sold: that’s only by this way that the editor knows it is profitable to release these CDs, and see the interest in continuing to release more…
Plus, I live in France and have already gotten my copy yesterday, so most of the purchasers must have received their ones by now, and so don’t need a digital copy in the waiting anymore 😉
23 on Volume 2.In fact it’s 21 (5 by disc, except disc 2 that has 6).
I’m not sure vol.3 will be a 4disc too… but I hope that’s you who are right!
I have a question about this CD. In the booklet The Cat and the Claw episodes are numbered 15 & 16, and Heart of Ice is numbered 14. But the official order (based on production numbers and only regrouping the 2parts episodes) gives TC&TC ns 14-15, and HoI n16. Do anybody know why they did this inversion (all other numbers are the good ones)? Maybe they followed the DVDbox order (that did this inversion only to have the two parts of TC&TC on the same disc)?
I’m not sure vol.3 will be a 4disc too… but I hope that’s you who are right?
Righjt you are — I scrolled fast through the LLLR page — must have counted some of the "Bonus" episode cues listings.
So, that would make about ten scores that are not going to be released.
Guilty as charged. I might miss the first half of Tiny Toons, but I was there for all of Batman. And this will be ordered when PayDay hits later this week.
Me too. And I was teaching.
Thank you a million! Is there a password for the 3 part rar version you posted to Mediafire?

No.
but I am not sure if thats what you are talking about
"A Piece of Film Music History"
That’s something I wrote a few months back while I was finishing up our 4 disc set for BTAS Vol 2. While sifting through Shirley’s personal collection of music we came across something marked "Danny’s Batman Theme". At first I thought it was going to be a demo for the BTAS theme, then I listened to it. Clocking in at 2 minutes and change was a piano demo for the theme from Danny Elfman’s 1989 score…filled with some mistakes and not quite complete. I just about wet my pants. The score that got me to fall in love with film music — here in my hands — is the initial demo cut for the producer’s to listen to.. .to say Yeah or Nay on the composer and his now iconic theme. It’s the score that launched Elfman’s career into the stratosphere and help establish that comic book sound for years to come.
I know some of you out there, you Grumpy Gus’, will poo-poo all over this discovery and my proclaimation, but I don’t care. This IS a part of film music history and I am very happy to share it with those who will appreciate it as much as I did. For those of you who picked up the BTAS Vol 2 set — it’s an easter egg on disc 1 at the end.
Enjoy!
MV
I can upload track 50 with the easter egg split out if anyone wants it.
but I am not sure if thats what you are talking aboutas long as i know i’m not the only one to hear it. if it’s in the master then it’s a shame it otherwise tarnishes what is an amazing release from this label.
also that piano demo easter egg, in case anyone wonders (since the wording of MV’s post off Facebook is a little unclear about who performs it), is Shirley playing it and not Elfman. she apparently sight read the music on the spot while doing it.
OMG you need to hang up the headphones and go outside for a walk..lol
That’s so slight a glitch that I can’t believe we are actually discussing this.
La La Land stated that it was someone using breath spray during the recording and that it’s on the original recordings.yeah, how dare i do something drastic like listen to the music, right? guess it doesn’t matter when you have shit crammed into your ears as you apparently do.
and it’s not a "slight" glitch when you can clearly hear it during playback. a slight glitch is something that isn’t interrupting the actual sound. clicks, pops, the sound on this track or any other ugly noise inorganic to the recorded sound itself is hard for anyone but a deaf individual to miss.
also since you’re keen to say "La La Land stated" this and that, where’s the proof of where anyone from the label mentions it? seems like you’re blowing a load of bullshit all over the thread with that statement to me.
I already added the split up files to the first post
Yes I have it. Someone else on here was gracious enough to allow me to D/L it. Let me ask them if it’s ok to share. I’ll need to upload it as well. It’s in 320.

What’s bated breath? It sounds interesting…
Sorry, but I (and many others here!) think that’s it’s not fair – this set was released less than month ago! So if someone share 320Kbps or FLAC now in 95% LLL will never sell this set.
And we wait for another releases from them, aren’t we? No sales = no Holy Grails in future 😉
In any cases – if you want to listen it – get this version, it’s sounds good. if you want 320Kbps or FLAC – order whole set. Believe me, it’s costs this money…
You’ve never heard that figure of speech before? Well, here’s what it means if you’re interested: Bated breath (http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/bated-breath.html)
How exactly is 320Kbps any better than VBR-0 kind sir?
Link appears to be dead
It isn’t. If you blindfolded him and played a bit of each, he could not tell the difference, except the vbr takes less space. And flac is only gonna matter if you want to listen on really nice speakers.
I understand wanting the 320, it is a hard habit to break. But, i agree with not openly posting the flac. At least for now.
Many thanks for posting this.
Brilliant music throughout the entire series. I’m a proud owner of both volumes and look forward to potentially a 3 volume.
..
it can happen! <.<
Edit: I’ve seen Tyrion’s mirror now! Thank you so much!
But a second one??
Sir, I’ll be smiling for a month. At least. Thanks!
the scans on mediafire are undownloadable. mediafire says files are part of a multipart file and are unsupported as far as unlimited downloads.
anyway i could still get them? and Thanks for these BTW!
update: it’s working now
lol who from that generation didn’t? even people who weren’t Bat fans watched just for the way the show was done in terms of music, animation, visual, character development, and everything else. I remember a few nights, hearing the SFX of the show go off so I’d wake up, sneak out of my room and lol my parents were watching!!! I didn’t even know they taped it, but when I saw them watching I knew it was taped cause I saw that old scoll Fox Kids logo on the bottom right corner lol.
Thanks so much for the upload. Shirley Walker was an unsung hero… So glad they are finally releasing her music… as my brother said, they never give you flowers when you can smell them, this was long overdue… Not that she was the only contributor, but you know what I mean.
Sucks she’s no longer with us to see her work get released, bought, and loved. I’m sure she knew her work was loved. But it really does make a difference to hear or see someone tell you "Hey i just bought/listened to your music. wow it’s sooo amazing! I absolutely love it!
She also wasn’t around when the show was on DVD so she couldn’t participate in the special features. Hearing Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm talk about the music, made me wish she was there to give comments since it was her work. Surprised Danny Elfman or any of the other composers, if there were any others never commented either. And I’m going off topic here, but the people who voiced Robin, Batgirl, Gordon, and other iconic characters weren’t present for the "Voices Of The Knight" feature. Maybe if theis ever gets out on blu ray, which I hope it does even though it won’t be in HD, we’ll get to see comments from all the names I mentioned here and everyone else.
Walker lived until November 2006. All four volumes of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES were released on DVD by the end of 2005, and Walker participated in two commentary tracks for Vol. 3: "Read My Lips" and "Harlequinade." Check ’em out.
And if you like this music, buy these awesome CDs from LLL while you still can! The expanded MASK OF THE PHANTASM just went OOP last month, I think.
Great Job !
(But first part of booklet scan mediafire link don’t work)
Would anyone with the physical discs perhaps be willing to rip this one track, with the easter egg Batman theme demo, in FLAC or any other lossless format please?
