Welcome to my Custom Album Art thread!

I make album art for the gamerips I download and have started posting it here for everyone to use 🙂

If anyone has any requests I’d really like to try making some new ones for rips I don’t have/wouldn’t normally download (my stuff is very Nintendo focussed right now…). Post any requests you have in the thread or message me and I’ll see what I can do. The newer the game, the easier it is to get good, clean, hi-res assets but I’ve still had some success with older titles.

All images are 640×640 jpegs and some games have a few variations. Please click on the images for the full size versions.

Great idea, and very good job with the ones you’ve made so far.

I have quite a few rips for which I’d love to have album art. (I hate using box art for them.) So since you’re open to requests, I’d like to ask for: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Duck Tales (NES), G.I. Joe/G.I. Joe: Atlantis Factor (NES), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (SNES).

Turtles: NES

The older the game, the harder it is to find decent hi-res assets for it. The artwork on the turtles box is pretty cool but the box itself has loads of text and crap over it and it’s cropped diagonally and would be a nightmare to try and turn into usable album art. Luckily though some guy posted a hi res pic of the art in question which was from one of the Turtles comics and I was able to make something good 🙂 Hopefully I can get lucky with some of the other older games requested…

I used some of the official Japanese wallpaper background and borders to make this trilogy of art. SA2 and 3 weren’t asked for but I thought it was worth doing them all at the same time and in the same style since none of them got an official release to my knowledge.

The box art for P:BR is boooooooooring. Luckily there were some nice hi-res assets floating about for some of the locations and this night-time view of Pok�topia seemed like the perfect one to choose.

No out there requests, just that it’d be awesome if you could do Metroid Prime 1 and the rest of the major zeldas (LttP, Ocarina, Majora, and Wind Waker), cause I’m totally OCD and having everything in a series match up is great. 😀

Also, I do have a request… Super Mario Sunshine 😛 … I was thinking that particular artwork with Mario and Peach relaxing on the beach, with Mario wearing headphones.

Also, if you can, any of the Mario Kart games (not Arcade) that haven’t got an official soundtrack, namely Super Circuit, Double Dash!! and DS? Also Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, definitely.

dude, can you make album arts for Neo Turf Masters Arranged Tracks and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum Arranged Tracks? Cuz there were no album releases for them 🙂

Update 22/07

I’ve done some more requests though admittedly they’re in no particular order. Sometimes I can’t find decent resolution stuff or my mind just goes blank so I jump onto another project for a fresh start. I’ll try and tackle all the requests given but as I’ve said before, the older the game the harder it is to get decent images to make a cover out of 🙁 For that reason, when the going gets tough I might jump on to a newer and thus easier game to make a cover for but I’ll always try and go back 🙂

Super Circuit was a frankenstien job using bits of various wallpapers so isn;t the most amazing but DD!!/DS had decent assets available and it was easy enough to find matching fonts.

Another wallpaper hack, I rotated an existing wallpaper and rearranged the hexagonal panels to better suit the square format, turned pretty well if I do say so myself 🙂

I’m going to have a look at making a couple more Mother 3 ones but for now this one should hopefully suffice.

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition

SSFIVAE is an odd one, for a game so new with such incredible artwork it was really hard to find some nice, clean (logo etc. free) artwork that wasn’t just a single character. Luckily I found this awesome Japanese poster art which I think works really well. I made the logo really small so as not to cover up any of the characters faces etc.

I am so glad that you made a Mother 3 album art! Also Mario Kart is kickass, good job!

Great stuff there, I’d like to request a Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale cover. I usually do some myself but that one has been a real challenge for the novice I am so I’d love to see your own take on it.

Nice work you’ve done with these. What throws me off some is the constant use of "original sound version"; I feel you’re whoring that a bit too much.

Could you do one for Fire Emblem Awakening ost please, one using its Japanese name (FIRE EMBLEM Kakusei ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK) and the other using its English name.. So hard to find decent pics to use without resorting using game box art XD

No, I fully understand and actually concur. But still, I think there’s room to let your creative juices run wild. Doesn’t necessarily have to be over-the-top, but neither does it have to be underwhelming.
