One of my favourite films is the American Civil War epic Gettysburg, even though I’m Australian, and like so many others I find this period to be a fascinating time in US history. So, after seeing the movie I had to have the soundtrack which is, sadly, surprisingly short at 56 minutes given the length of the film.

However, some time after buying the score on CD, and long before I discovered online record stores, I stumbled across the 2 disc Deluxe Commemmorative Edition featuring the originally released music on disc 1 and a second disc with previously unreleased music. It was something I had to have as I thought it added so much more to the existing release, especially with Jeff Daniels reciting Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address at the end.

Eventually, I listed them in chronological order but much later I STILL wasn’t satisfied mainly because the film version of March to Mortality, (one of my favourite scenes) as heard in the film, is vastly different to the album version. Then I realised what was heard in the film had come from an existing track, Battle for Little Round Top. So using Adacity for possibly the first time I created the film version of March To Mortality with a good amount of success. Over the years I have created many others and arranged them all in order with only several tracks unsequenced as I could not find them in the film. Now, only one track remains unsequenced and I’ll eventually get that one sorted out and in order soon enough. BUT if anyone has an idea of where it goes please let me know.

This is NOT a DVD rip but an edited version of the 2CD OST release. All edits were made by me using Audacity however, they may not be the best edits but that’s only because I am not a mixing engineer. Enjoy.

Thanks, Dean, I’m a big fan of G’burg myself and was also disappointed that the original s’track didn’t follow the movie more closely. Can’t wait to give your version a listen!

i’m admittedly a big fan of big war films, and this particular film is in my top lists. i remember this particular score was the first among the earliest request i made and have them fulfilled by gamesmaster.
and this edit is a welcome addition to that!

thanks dean! 😀

Hi IamBugz, at the moment you’re the first person who is having problems to let me know and so far it has been downloaded over 50 times so I am guessing it might be just you having the problems unfortunately.

Thanks pzkpfwmk5.

It’s actually been 6 years since I first started arranging this chronologically and now there is just one track left to sequence, General Lee’s Solitude. Eventually I will get this one placed as well. Enjoy.
