I’ve got so many versions of this soundtrack it’s pathetic. Easily Tangerine Dream’s most overrated work. Doesn’t hold a candle to Thief, Firestarter, or Legend. Especially for The Dream it’s bland, repetitive, and like most moody electronic scores doesn’t work well without the movie playing on top of it. To understand my meaning try listening to the recent Cliff Martinez score for "Drive"–while nice and moody it loses its effectiveness without the visuals. Just like Michael Mann’s film the "Keep" as a score entices but never fully delivers.

he probably just meant it’s edited from the complete movie audio – it was released on laserdisc and vhs.
