Unfortunately, you’re the only who can get it FLAC because FLAC comes from CDs. I’m sure there are softwares out there, but let the experts talk.
EDIT: Scratch that, My camera is acting up right now.
thanks! 😀
Here are the instructions if you want to know:
Simply install foobar2000 (free program) from this link:
http://www.foobar2000.org/files/5ce9a905d1931ef082eb9c9998f170de/foobar2000_v1.1.11.exe
Then download the flac encoder from here:
http://www.rarewares.org/files/lossless/flac-1.2.1b.zip
And the lame encoder (mp3) from here:
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php
Download either lame 3.99.5 regular or 64 bit depending on if your computer is 32 or 64 bit.
Install foobar2000 then open the zip files and copy lame.exe and flac.exe to where foobar2000 is installed (C:\Program Files\foobar2000 or C:\Program Files (x86)\foobar2000 if you have a 64 bit computer)
Once those files are copied to the directory, simply open foobar2000. If you want to rip a cd, select "File" from the menu and then "Open Audio CD". You will then see a button that says "Rip"…press it. If it doesn’t automatically enter in the album information, you can fill it out as you like…then press "Proceed to Converter Setup dialog". In this box, simply click on "Output Format" and choose "FLAC" if you want lossless or MP3 if you want lossy. You can select how much compression you want in the FLAC dialog or whether you want 320 kbps or VBR in the MP3 dialog by pushing the "Edit" button. Once that is done, then hit the "Back" button and then "Convert" and it will ask you where you want to save the files. If you already have files that you want to convert to another format, simply drag the songs you want to copy into the foobar window, highlight all of them, and right click. A little menu should pop up, choose convert then … from the menu. This is the same screen that comes up as explained before asking what format you want to convert to. Hope this helps anyone that isn’t quite sure how to rip music or convert formats very well.
but THANK YOU for sharing!! 🙂
this. One reason why I’m an Apple fanboy
Yes, because it is a great idea to convert 128kbps wma files to mp3, losing even more data in the process. Any program that automatically transcodes files you add to it is trash, especially if those features are included by default. Foobar2000 WARNS you if you try to convert from one lossy format to another and says "Are you sure you want to do this, there will be data loss!?" I don’t know why iTunes would have a problem playing wma files, zunes play itunes files just fine without needing to do any conversions.
Never heard of WMA Lossless? 😉
Excellent job explaining the CD rip process. Much appreciated.
Sure, but 128kbps bitrate in any format is still nowhere near lossless quality.
Regardless, thanks a bunch to jaroshulk28 for the upload! I’ve been really curious to hear what the additional 14 minutes or so is like!
Wow, those were the weirdest hoops I’ve ever had to jump through to download something! Regardless, thank you so much for this share 🙂
and for ripping cd, dbpoweramp music converter is easy to use
Sorry man, I don’t know that much about conversion. You’re right though, it converted them to a crappy format. I had checked and they were 128kps.

hey, with your problem with jaws 2 and the "screaming blonde" is it possible to rip the french track or is it 2.0?
Sorry, what? And also **why**? Everything was so nice and quiet…
The problem was I tried to extract the audio with DVD Audio Extractor and I could only get the Mono and Stereo out of it…
I’m sorry for coming here and ruining everything, please forgive me.
