I see final fantasy 1-3 on the app store as well as tactics. Anyone know if VI will becoming to the iPhone or any other platform? It was always my favorite of the series.

I have no idea about the iPhone, but I do know FFVI is available on the Playstation Network Store for use with the PS3, PSP or PS Vita (along with FFI, II, IV, V, VII, VIII and IX).

It was also re-released on the GBA years ago as well, but that version is probably very hard to find. Your best bet is downloading the PSN release.

As it happens, I have FFVI for my Iphone.
Unfortunately you must jailbreak in order to get an emulator to play it, but with all the wonderful benefits of a jailbreak (final fantasy notification noises and button themes) I think it worth it.

If you would like I can guide you through the process.

I’m a bit late on this thread here, but I know that FF5 has recently come out of the app store, so there’s a high possibility they will be re-releasing at least ff6 in very near future (at the pace they’re going, they’re releasing re-releases (haha) at least every year) . A lot of fans are also clamouring for a ff7 and 8 remake, and Squeenix knows that fans love to throw money at the screens, so I’m sure they’re considering them as possibilities for releasing onto portable platforms such as iphone, but nothing too concrete on that yet.

Android versions are a bit behind on schedule compared to their Apple cousins, but still they’re being released! And as leomatao suggested, there’s always the emulator option for Android phones without hassle of jailbreaking. Works wonders with PS1 roms.
