Can anyone do a proper split for me?

I don’t know how to split APEs and even if I did, I don’t know how to edit CUEs.

The problem is that the lossless album I downloaded used this as the source. I’m saying it was a bad split as the beginning of each track after Track 1 has the beginning at the end of the track before it.

Example: The last 12 seconds of Track 15 are supposed to be the 1st 12 seconds of Track 16. The result is every track except #1 has it’s beginning cut out. Anyone mind helping by teaching me how to fix this or just doing it for me?

It seems as though somebody being "clever" has removed gaps between tracks… because the problem gets progressively worse through the album.

I inserted a two second gap between track 1 and 2, which sorts things out until track 7, then it all goes to hell again.

I think you might be better off trying to find another rip of this. Who knows what else they did in their ham-fisted incompetent ripping process…

Unlucky for me, I only found 2 good downloads of that album in lossless format from 20 related results. Both of which used that lazy rip, the other 18 are unknown because they’re dead. One of which from these forums, and the original uploader has been inactive for a few months now. Hopefully someone who regularly reads requests have it.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Theres a lovely torrent with 1 seed and 3 KB/s download time. Only 3 weeks to go says uTorrent >:3

^^^ Just in case you didn’t notice, I have uploaded a good version created by re-inserting gaps where they were removed, splitting, and encoding to FLAC.

I’m sure I wrote that already but it appears to have vanished off my post… 🙂

You’re too kind. I thanketh you. I prioritized a single track to preview, and the torrent turns out to be the same bad split from the other places.

Thats the 1st time I’ve seen a hotfile link actually work 😮
It’ll probably get removed pretty soon.
