Does anyone know if an expanded version of the "A Beautiful Mind" score has ever been available?

I’m specifically seeking the subtle piano cue that begins at 1:11 in the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CemLiSI5ox8

"Cavia" over on this post was also seeking the same cue: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f58/beautiful-mind-only-real-ost-expert-53003

Could anyone enlighten us on whether an expanded version of Horner’s score has ever been posted before – or – if not the entire score, at least that one cue?

Thanks!

No. Nothing exists. Haha, I didn’t even have to click on the link you gave–I am/was in search of that exact same cue!

I am in search of something bigger than the OST as well…But you go ask any of the people who are James Horner fanatics, like Amanda or JHFan, and they will tell you no such score exists. I’ve tried. No one knows of anything more than the original soundtrack.

EDIT: I want to add to this by saying: your best bet is probably going to be a DVD rip…but that’s not saying very much. I’ve tried it and all the missing cues also play during scenes where there are non-removable voices echoes or oddball SFX.

I can offer you my rip of that piano cue, though…There’s still a lot of SFX such as all the calculations going through Nash’s head when the music plays, but at least you can’t hear Nash, himself, talking.

Thanks for your reply, Dimensioner. Looking forward to hearing the cue!

It appears that Peeje no longer wants to work for me, and that was about the last file host I trusted. I thought I had a Rapidshare account that I could resort to, but it looks like I deleted my Rapidshare software. The last host I tried using was Fileserve, and like two weeks after I created an account, they went all private. Now I don’t know what to do, because I’m afraid that the next host I pick will also be the next one to bite the dust.

Any suggestions from anyone?

The first time I tried peeje, it got to 97% and then stopped–I left it alone for like 20 minutes. The next three times I tried, it came up with and error before the upload ever even started. And the last time I tried, it got to 98% and then gave up. I get this error message: "Error #PJ440; please try again or contact support".

I tried several more times, and it finally worked! Enjoy!

Thanks for that link Dimensioner!! I am also hoping there is a bootleg for "A Beautiful Mind". James Horner is just a great composer.

I have never seen anything other than the official score for A Beautiful Mind. I don’t think I have even seen dvd rips, aside from what Dimensioner just did. Usually, people out there label these as "complete" scores and such, and I have never run across anything like that.

I don’t think A Beautiful Mind was a big enough deal to call for a full score release, I mean, even Titanic didn’t get that treatment.
