Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Custom Extended OST (Re-Up)

Hi Everybody,

First things first. Because of some weird password reset bug I haven’t been able to post under my old account (Trennas) and can no longer edit the original tread. Still, as there are people asking for a re-up, I figured it would be smarter to make a new thread of which I can actually edit the first post. Besides my name and the download link, nothing has changed.

I’ve been on this forum for a while now, and though I rarely contribute with new content myself, I really wanted to re-share a little pet project of mine that I finished last year: a custom extended soundtrack of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves!

I have loved Greg Edmonson’s work ever since Drake’s Fortune and I was extremely surprised to find that a lot of in-game music hadn’t been included on the soundtrack at the time of release. I found this such a shame that I decided to make a tribute to Edmonson’s work by including and extending as much music from the original game files as I possibly could. I downloaded a game rip and managed to extract the psarc files, converted them into mp3 and began a long process of sorting them out and comparing them to the original soundtrack. After several weeks of back breaking audio editing in Audition I was finally able to declare this project done and ready for download! I hope you all enjoy! Please let me know if you happen to stumble upon any flaws regarding volume or transitions. I did my best to fix them as much as I could, but it’s not impossible that I missed a few things.

So yeah, that’s 37 tracks, whereas the original extended soundtrack counted only 23!
It makes for 1 hour and 48 minutes of sheer Uncharted 2 musical goodness!

CHANGE LOG – JULY 4, 2011:

Fixed a volume hiccup at the end of track 9 (Urban Warfare) that was only audible with earphones but driving me insane.
Added a new track! Track 30 – Broken Paradise, Part II (renumbered track list after track 29.)
Equalized the volumes of all tracks with MP3gain, as there were huge differences between them. Tracks should now all be around 91 dB.
Ran all the files through TagScanner and fixed the tags where necessary.

I had some similar problem with the account a while ago… It turned out email containing the link for verification or something like that, went straight to spam folder of my gmail account. So I kept my old username xD…. Do check your spam folder just in case.

I believe I did exactly that, but they weren’t in there either. But well, will just keep this username for now 🙂

Good News Shriners!!! After searching the world wide internet I found the extended score under youtube and there was a still active link for this!
I downloaded it all and uploaded it. But one Problem: The 6. Track Borneo wasn’t here so I used youtube for it. I downloaded it in 320 kbts but you know youtube, bad quality and all but better than nothing.

To answer Zorro’s question. No, I haven’t been working on something similar for Drake’s Deception as the ripping failed and most of the music was already on the soundtrack anyway. I have, however, started working on Drake’s Fortune. Only have a few tracks done for now though; it’s a bit of a pain to assemble :’)

Fully agreed. In terms of story, Among Thieves is a LOT better than Drake’s Deception. The latter feels like a collection of cool locations held together by something closely resembling coincidence. There is also a rather huge plot hole in the ship graveyard section I still can’t get my head around.

I was wondering, does anyone have the XMB theme from the Uncharted 2: Closed Multiplayer BETA? It’s a variation, probably an early version, of one of the themes in the game that is looped for the XMB theme. I couldn’t really find it anywhere in good quality. All I have is the BETA on my PS3. Fantabulous work! Congratulations on making something so awesome! I don’t even have to listen to it and I know that those 37 tracks are just… Awesome.
Uncharted 4 is on its way and although we have a long time to wait, it’s a perfect opportunity for someone to do an extended Uncharted: 3 score. You did an excellent job with this and I think you would be the perfect guy to make it. Obviously I can’t force you to do something and I would understand if you didn’t want to, but like I said I think it would be amazing if you did it.
Also, you may want to add some information on the cover.

I’m afraid it would take some who can and wants to rip the song that also has the Beta to do it which seems to be quite rare. Was hoping that someone already did it and had it stored somewhere. As for the song. I knew I heard parts of it in other tracks and in the game. It also sounds like a variation of the beginning of Run!! from another extended OST of the game. My assumption is that because the Closed Beta came out way ahead of the final game the soundtrack was not complete and they just took an element of a song they had that was short and good for looping. In my opinion though even though the song is short it’s really cool and it’s rather unfortunate that it is not in any rip and that nobody ever ripped it. And as for the rest of the Beta, I noticed from looking it up on YouTube that quite a few of the songs in the Beta have a different mix to them, probably early unmastered versions.

Well, I went back to my original game rip files and couldn’t find anything resembling the file you’re looking for. If you could find a downloadable beta version you could extract the files yourself. Good luck!
