This is a three CD set from RPO, released a few years ago. They were available individially before. Most tracks were conducted by Bateman, Kashif and Raine, but Hess and Wiseman did conduct his/her own works. CD1 track2 Dances with wolves was a disappointment as no harmonica. Most of us would be familiar with JB’s own version with RPO in Moviola album.

The booklet has all the info about who arranged, who conducted. These recordings were produced and mastered by James Fiz. Although this set seems sold out, the RPO re-released it under new title: Film Music Gala.

They are not the same person. Nicholas Dodd conducts most (if not all) of David Arnold scores. That is why you see many times their names together in album credits.

1) This is indeed a rare appearance of David Arnold (the composer of Stargate, Independence Day, etc) actually conducting. He doesn’t do it as a rule, but has been known to appear on the podium occasionally.

2) There is another David Arnold who does compose and conduct, not related to this one.
