Question about getting Occult Fan II

I’m playing through FFVIII and right now I’m in Dollet’s Pub. I just beat the owner and saved. I know the percentage on getting the OF II is really low when you check the stack of books near the entrance / exit of his private room but I’ve checked, and checked, and checked and keep resetting and going back to try and grab it but it wont show up for me and I’m wondering is it def just because it has a low % rating or did I miss on something before hand that I should have done? Just was wondering and wanted to check with pros. Also does it matter if I hard reset or soft reset when I don’t grab it?

That’s weird, I got it at the first look-around. You got the first already?

Yeah, I already had gotten the first Occult Fan. I sold it for the money. But I thought you could get the second reguardless.

Hmm.. Yes, one would think so. Perhaps that is the problem though. ‘Cause otherwise I could not figure out what is..

…I actually haven’t played VIII since posting this thread. But before that, I had tried it numerous times, over and over.. and over and over again. Getting the same results. So I boycotted FFVIII! XD ..joking aside I just been busy anyways. But I’d even acquire the card that’s in with all the stuff in that pile, which is suppose to be around the same or is the same % as getting Occult Fan II. It’s really not a huge deal to me, just wanted to see if I could get an answer to why I haven’t been able to get it. It got me curious. Next time I play it again I’ll just try a couple more times for the fun of it, and if I don’t grab it in the time I’ll just move on, lol.

Hahah, ah well, it’s not like you’d have them all in a row afterwards anyways. Seen that you’ve already sold the first 😉
So yeah, moving on would be a good idea. Wouldn’t be a disaster. Unlike the Weapons Monthly, Combat King or Pet Pals’ Magazines ^~
