Is there a full rip of this games soundtrack that is 320kbps or better quality?

The only full game rip I can find is 160kbps. It runs 37 tracks and 90 minutes. I love all the little ambient pieces and additional music the full rip has over the CD (especially the otherworldly bits of ambiance for the robot in the junkyard at the beginning), but 160kbps isn’t a high enough bit rate for music this fun, and was wondering if there is a rip of all the game music in higher quality….

Any help would be great towards getting a high quality rip of all this games music. The CD Sndtk that comes with the game can be found here in lossless, the EP with additional music can be found at 256kbps (released at that kbps)…but even added together they only manage about 60-ish minutes of music, 30 minutes shy of being complete, with the tracks themselves each re-arranged/re-mixed to varying degrees from what’s heard in game (admittedly, it was remixed well, its just as a fan of the game and of ambient music, I want to hear the score as it played in-game, and have all of the ambient material/atmospheres and shorter tracks)…

Unless the music in the game is actually encoded at 160kbps (which is possible, the game file as a whole isn’t super big), and what we got is the best option. Then we’d need a leak from the composer or someone at Amanita Design, in which case nevermind, LOL. But if we can get a full rip at a high quality from what’s available, that’d be awesome!

I posted a topic with everything as it was, properly labeled. Whatever quality is was was straight from the original PC release (though I included the LP and EP). I’m not sure about other releases.

I checked the ‘date created’ (or in this case, date downloaded) for the expansion I have (says November 2009) and its yours, actually: Thread 70807
Guess it’d been long enough that I didn’t remember where I got it.

160kbps looks like what the files were encoded at in-game; based on what you said about taking it straight from the game, and the other game rips out there (some of which I downloaded to check), 160 is what it is. The tracks were probably composed and delivered in lossless, then re-encoded at a low kbps to save space. Barring either a legitimate release or leak of the original lossless tracks (either by Dvorak or by Amanita Design), the 160kbps game files are the best we’ve got for the unreleased music. Case solved.

I gotta admit, even though high quality files would be/are preferable, the game files sound the best that 160kbps allows. It’s definitely listenable (which is why it took me over three years to finally ask about higher quality files, hehe).

Incidentally, thanks for uploading it 🙂 Noticed I’d forgotten to say thanks on the old thread…

It’s kinda funny looking at my Machinarium music files: have the music in Lossless (the CD), 256kbps (EP), and 160kbps (game rip)…. I’m not sure ‘why’ its funny, but it makes me chuckle.

Consider it upgraded! Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the lossless EP, man. When the EP was released, I believe it was just at 256kbps initially (that’s all I remember finding, anyway). Never knew the full-on-bitrate version had been released later.

You know lossless files, the more the merrier 🙂
