Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance (KH3D) rip

I know it’s early, but since I’ve heard that some people DO have their hands on this game (i.e. Japanese people), I thought I’d be the one to make this topic. I am requesting a rip of the game’s music. I don’t expect there to be any results for a few days, but hey, you never know. And when it is ripped, please update this topic accordingly.

Not gonna happen. As it stands currently, it’s not possible to dump 3DS games files just yet. So getting exact rips simply won’t happen.

In short, you have two options:
1-Wait for the official soundtrack – that’s like, what, 16 days now?
2-Pause the game, and directly record the music via cable. Downsides to this: muffled quality, incorrect beginning/ending, and music exclusive to cutscenes will be a no-go.

Yeah, people have said this before. Here’s the thing–the official tracklist was released by Square-Enix this morning, and just as I suspected, all of the songs on the OST are brand new–so if there are any returning songs in the game, we won’t know about that in the OST (I suspected this based on the Days/BBS/Re:Coded OST not containing tracks from earlier in the series either). In fact, I already know of two returning songs based on some early cutscenes posted: Shaded Truths and Tears of the Light, both songs from Birth By Sleep.

Of couse, the irony is that part of me would rather be surprised by the appearance of the songs instead…in fact, it’s arguable that even the mere presence of a familiar song could be a spoiler in of itself, and I would not want to know either way whether a song IS or a song ISN’T in the OST and just be surprised. I’m quite conflicted, to be perfectly honest.

Strike that, it’s one thing to have an image of a 3DS file, it’s another to break the encryption. As far as I’m aware, it’s AES encrypted (meaning no usable files for basically the next ten years or more). That being said, you’ll find it better to wait until the soundtrack comes out in April or play the game shipped/wait until it is release in your region.

Just out of curiosity, do you say ten years because "that’s likely the amount of time it takes until someone finally comes up with a solution for breaking the encryption" or because "a computer is being automated to take a brute force attack on the encryption, but the amount of time it takes to run the algorithm in total is roughly equal to ten years"?

Random amount of time since no one has yet broken it and I do believe it will stay that way for about that many years to come.

Glad to see the OST hitting so soon after the game’s release; that’s unusual for Kingdom Hearts lately. Can’t wait to hear those TWEWY mixes!

Any news on this? The game has been out for like 11 days now.

Really, nothing? I’m disappointed. I’ve seen some rips floating around YouTube, but I don’t want to tread in that spoiler-infested water. I’d rather have the song itself with me on my hard drive.

I know the official OST release is only four days away, but I’m an impatient bastard, you see, especially after hearing the official OST website’s sample of L’Oscurita dell’Ignot, an unbelievably epic track.

Any help would be much appreciated. I swear this’ll be the last time I bump this thread, given that the OST release is only four days away.
