I understand. Thanks anyways.
One does not simply walk into mordor… I shall check the legitimacy of this one guys.
Thank you still!
Thanks for your info.
Ape is as good as FLAC:)
You can decompress APE files to WAV files using Monkey’s Audio and then compress the WAV files to FLAC files using FLAC Frontend. Since APE and FLAC are both lossless codecs, no information will be lost in the process.
By the way, this edition is not complete: I own in MP3 (128 kbps) a 3-CD, 196-minute edition of Gladiator (which also contains alternate cues). I can upload it if somebody’s interested…

I’m interested. Whenever you get the chance, please make it so.
It’s not this Gladiator [Complete Score] (http://speedsoft.site11.com/gladiator_complete_score.html) by any chance, is it? I mean, we already have a thousand variations/a good number of nearly identical releases for Gladiator (which, I’ve heard, are all fake, in a certain manner). Is your set much different than what was once available on that website, judging by track lists? I think I would rather take 106 minutes of good quality, lossless music over 196 minutes of 128kbps mp3 music that is likely composed of a bunch of things called "alternates" that are not actually alternates. Just saying.
Yes, that’s exactly that one. But what do you mean when you say the releases "are all fake, in a certain manner"?
I’m going off of what others have told me instead of my own listening but here’s what I have heard–and it may not all be statements that are contributed to only this score. The "alternate" tracks are not alternate in the sense that you would expect them to be: separate takes, alternate orchestrations, different inserts. No, rather, the "alternates" here were created by taking other tracks and just rearranging them in some manner. Another thing I’ve heard about some of these bootlegs/expanded edits of slightly older Zimmer scores is that they reuse material a whole lot. For example, you may hear a certain cue early on and then hear it later in the score under a different name, but it is essentially the same track as before.
Again, don’t take my word for all this and also, I may be confusing this information with what I’ve heard about all the tons of King Arthur releases, and maybe even Pearl Harbor stuff. Bottom line: apparently nothing available for Gladiator (and some of the other scores from the same era) are legitimately 100% expanded or complete in the sense that, say, The Dark Knight or the Pirates 4 Demos are considered complete. They have been falsely expanded.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the title of track 4 on disk 2 supposed to be "I’m Maximus Decimus Meridius"? I’ve seen the movie at least 10-20 times and I’m pretty sure that’s what is said(technically he says "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius"). Anyway, I am going to download this and check it out. It has been a long time since I have listened to the Gladiator soundtrack(s). I look forward to checking this out.

Correct.
All the real "new" stuff from Gladiator ever being around comes from various available sources, such as composer promos, composer websites, or from the DVD bonus material (such as the "unused" Rhino Fight cue. Although this contain some new stuff, this too also looks to be a edit from different cues as well. The beginning of the cue seems to be the same as beginning of "Conspiracy 1", that was on Badelts site).
As for this version in this thread, come on guys 🙂 . This is the version that’s been around since the official releases came out, in 2001 or something. As already pointed out by someone, nothing new (not even new stuff from composer promos etc), just the official releases, with the dialogue parts edited out. Or something like that.
Your link for Hans Zimmer – GLADIATOR Complete Score[APE] is dead.
Could you re-upload it please ?
Thanxs a lot ! 🙂
I’ve got many versions expanded, complete etc. included this one. I consider the official 2 CD – Special Anniversary Edition – 2005 the best and most coherent of all. Go Grab it in FLAC from there (torrent).

It has already ‘doubtful’ status in rutracker…
