Thanks. This is my favorite action film, period. I’m surprised, though, that Quentin Tarantino didn’t discover it until 10 years ago. Some of us have been fans for decades.

The movie is hard to find or at least was ten years ago. MGM Tuner had panned a VHS release but I don’t think it ever happened. Turner films shows it once in a blue moon usually in the middle of the night or on a Saturday afternoon. I managed to grab it once and they showed it wide screen as well. Tarantino probably never got the chance to see it until then. I understand he has a 35mm print he shows in his private theater in his home.

The score was fantastic and though I hate the type of loud jazz he composed for some of the tracks it really works in the film.
