Hello guys as you can see im on another account, for some reason my old account’s username and password do not work anymore, It gives me login qoutia max limit error and to wait 15 minutes. but 15min pass and the problem still persists. That’s where I was stuck as well – couldn’t open the main CVM file. Too bad they encrypted it for Nightshade, because Shinobi’s (ps2/ the same developer) CVM was easily accessible with something like MagicIso.

If requests are still open, can I request Sonic The Hedgehog (2006 – Xbox360/PS3)?

Fortunately I finally got a job and have been working the last month, more or less. I’ve been bumped with hours just recently and have not had time left to continue ripping music.

Unfortunately at the moment and in the future, for better or for worse, I will not be actively ripping as I just don’t have time; I’m an honest guy and l realized that I don’t have as much sparse time as I use to. I will finish uploading my previous queue of rips and cease after doing so. I will alternatively buy the Soundtracks themselves and provide rips in the forum, but I know its not as fun as ripping music, which I’d relate to ‘digging for treasure’.

I believe its proper then to retire, for the time being, my status with the Legacy team. Thanks for readin’ hope you guys understand.

it can be anything: DAX Label Description File, zip archive, Norton Internet Security’ file, etc. what is the name of the game from which you want to rip the files?

I was going through stuff in the garage, found a box of my brothers stuff and inside was a couple old Windows 95 PC games. The one I was asking about (I never played it or heard of it before) is a game called "A Fork in the Tale". Released by Any River Entertainment in 1997.

It has 5 discs, and every disc is just files with the .ALC extension, so I assume they are video files with sound embedded in order to run the game. (other than disc 1 has drivers and directx, etc)

I was just curious only because… the cover has Rob Schneider (of "Saturday Night Live" fame) on the cover, with a couple luscious fantasy babes in a medievil world. Cover artwork almost looks like Frank Frazetta artwork.

Was just curious as I had never seen this one before.

Very nice score, be sure to give a listen. Some of the arrangements were formally from the Winter Olympics which is a shame, could have strive for more creativity in that dept. But the originals make up for it, very enjoyable. Many were looking forward towards a proper rip (any rip at all in fact) hopefully your patience has paid off. Enjoy! :p

With luck you might be able to download the whole thing just in time. A lot of new recently released games get deleted shortly after appearing online. It’s been several days since I was trying to download Syndicate (for the soundtrack purposes) from different sources and the links keep going offline one after another.

Our dear friend and ripper 13arnaby has decided to drop out of the legacy on a haitus note. He will be back but that is undefined at the moment and im sure he has other things going on with life as i do as well which is why its been really dry as of late. Also the recent copywriting busts have slowed as down and 13arnaby seems to want to stay out of the fray for a bit till it cools down as he is in the UK and there are busts over there as well as here in the states, He also seems to have lost motivation and ripping might not be his top priority now. Over the weekend, I’ll be changing the formatting of this thread. All our old rips will be updated to our new method as mentioned earlier.

The first post will have a list of rips done by us, like an index I suppose so it’ll be easier to find stuff released by us.

Now I do not know for a fact but I heavily doubt that there are laws anywhere on this planet that make copying/ripping single files, and then sharing in any way possible, illegal.

I think that you can safely share any single files (files like Readme.txt) however you possibly like to. Thus I doubt that sharing ripped files from packed softwares is illegal.

I understand the precautions perfectly. None of us wants that bullshit in our lives. When all we want is to get the music in the games which is never released fully commercially. Commercial releases tend to be a 1/10 of the full content, so a lot is never released. That is one problem with pre-composed tracks. Streaming music is pretty much impossible to release commercially or you need to cut a lot and thus lose a lot. Streaming music is used a lot in games today for obvious reasons. It was easier when Red Alert for example came out. Where you basically had soundtrack playing on the background, and it didn’t matter how intense the moment in the game was. Hell March was banging while I were sneaking with Tanya.

It is deemed an infringement of intellectual copyright. Most games have a EULA where it states that you only own a license to play the game and in no way, shape or form do you own any of the content within the game and are forbidden to distribute or modify any of the game’s content without the express written consent of the copyright holder.

I know. That doesn’t mean it will hold in court. Actually quite contrary to that.

After weeks and weeks of excruciating work its finally done! The most proper rip of this game you can get!!, all segments have to be analyzed via ingame gameplay as to properly combine them because of the lack of filenames it has, however the archives of the levels did have the names but as to match them up accurate there is no way, but i have copid the main names for the tracks 98% accurate!! Segments are also properly combined based on how they are played dynamically ingame so lots of playthroughs and recording via line in had to be done! I have had restarted this rip several times, that’s how difficult it is! So desregard and delete that crap rip that i posted a while back, its not proper and its very bad! this by far is better! This is one of my favorite brian tyler scores and its probably his best!! regarding his vgm scores. Its very inspired by fast and the furious movies he has done and has loads of great Themes!! 😀 So i hope you enjoy and say thanks because this was quite hell to do! 🙂

Also made suites for some of the dynamic tracks! 🙂 Deleted some duplicates, also made sure to include the extra music like riddler,mad hatter ect 🙂 if missing soemthing let me know i have some unidentified stuff not included, but so far its complete!, cutscene music not included due to sfx! BTW fixed that drum problem in the wonder tower combat track. It lined up correctly, but the ending segment of the drum segment was repeated dynamically on the fly at the start of the track then came the regular drum version. so both wonder tower and wonder city have the same drum track, just the wonder tower version is a little modified at the beginning. Was a damn pain i tell you though to figure it out. 😀

So where is the most up to date version of it then? Because I tried downloading something and I don’t know if its his or not. A few of files kept giving me errors…

I’m not trying to be a jerk here, really, but if you really read the thread you’d see that the rip you’ve requested is already being done. That’s why I asked you to read the thread.

I hate to admit this but I’m afraid I’m gonna have to do most of the songs like the Church Stealth and Subway Smackdown (the GCPD one, "You Should Have Listened To My Warning") again, the quality of your new rip is 1,000,000 times better than the old one I had.

Plus, the audio copyright infringment crackdown on YT gets worse by the day, I’ll just do full suite mixes of Joker’s Carnival, Black Mask and the Lost City maps as previews to the complete soundtrack… they weren’t on the official score release.

NOTES: Track stream 131 was a mono muzak track that got messed up during encoding so will fix in rerip. Also Stream 66 i forgot to remove that after doing its interleaved counterparts 191.

Truth being told, there’s really no reliable host when dealing with the upload of copyrighted material… This is a sad day, but the "conclusion" wasn’t unexpected. I’ve not downloaded many of your rips, folks, but regardless of that… I’d like to thank you for all your shares, you’ve done an amazing job… and I hope that this ‘situation’ ends only with an account suspension.

But my guess would also be that the number does not count, they must be have some other factors that influence closing of the accounts. Like if Mediafire is contacted by a representative of copyright owners and wants those files to be gone badly, they’ll be like – ok we’ll just close this account. So it must be on a case by case basis.

No reliable host there is indeed, but among all this sharing business, after all we are technically braking the law.

Nah, I’ve just been really lucky… I tend to ‘spread the activity’ between various accounts/file-hosts… I have this stupid conviction that the mean guys could get suspicious and check those who go and upload a lot of data in a short period of time.
Perhaps I’m totally wrong, but I think they mostly take into consideration the amount of daily-downloads files get…. Not even checking filenames – I remember seeing some VGM Legacy release having a format similar to this: [*Platform*] *Game name* (Filetype)… Or even some other users’ upload retaining stuff like "Original Soundtrack from the Video Game" and the likes… Now, that’s pretty much like shouting "I’m illegal and I shall not be here!", yet, such files manage to stay online for a bit.

In the end, they don’t really care if you go and upload illegal stuff to their servers, like you rightly said they mostly take action when contacted by copyright holders and/or their representatives. You just have to keep your fingers crossed and hope they don’t nuke you fast.

I have got metal gear solid 4 and i can line in rip atleast the gameplay music because the music stil plays when i pause it. Not sure why many people saying it cannot be ripped via line in but my U.S greatest hits version does so strange.
