High quality MP3 copy of it — that’s all I got. Score only, can differ a little from the commercial tracks. 11 tracks.

Many many thanks for this score, but downloading tracks one by one is not the most convenient thing to do. So here’s what I did: I downloaded everything, renamed the files with their proper names, converted them in lossless FLAC (the original files were in WAV), put everything in an archive and re-uploaded it.

Track listing:
01. Loquasto Party (04:55)
02. Let Me Tell You About My Boat (01:48)
03. Attack on Ping Island (03:20)
04. Zissou’s Letter to Ned (01:22)
05. Pirate Attack (02:53)
06. Robbing Hennessey (01:49)
07. Sauna Interruptus (02:03)
08. On the Deck (01:08)
09. Escape from Ping Island (02:29)
10. Diving with Team Zissou (01:09)
11. Electro Ned Hero (01:48)

Total Duration: 00:24:44

Huh? The original files were MP3, so why converting them?

High quality MP3 copy of it — that’s all I got.
Don’t worry, I have the disc myself and mine is lossy sourced, so MP3 is all there is.

The original files were WAV, not MP3. The album in WAV is 251 Mo; when converted to FLAC, it becomes 127 Mo with the same audio quality, that’s why I converted to FLAC. (The WAV format is uncompressed, making WAV files very large.) Usually, WAV is used to encode lossless audio (from a CD-rip, for exemple), that’s why I assumed the album was lossless, but it may be not if you say so.

Anyway, I don’t see the point of encoding lossy material in WAV instead of letting it in MP3 because it will take the same amount of space than an uncompressed lossless file and the sound quality won’t be improved compared to MP3…

So you downloaded the music somewhere else, I guess. The way you wrote it sounded like you downloaded boggan’s MP3 album and converted it to flac.

Yes, some official promo pressings are lossy. I made a list of all titles I got my hands on on my blog (http://funnyml.blogspot.com/2011/10/ebay-report.html).

As I said before, I downloaded boggan’s album, but the files were in WAV, not in MP3. Just look at the name of the file extention: it’s ".wav", not ".mp3". Then I converted these WAV files to FLAC files. You can’t directly convert anything to FLAC except WAV files, anyway.
Usually, WAV files are lossless so I assumed boggan’s album was lossless since it was in WAV.

I have a question for you: you said that "some official promo pressings are lossy", but how do you know if they are lossy or not? I mean, when you rip a CD with the best possible quality, you have to do it in WAV (which is uncompressed). If the CD is lossless, you will obtain a lossless WAV file, but if the CD is lossy, you will have a lossy WAV file, am I correct? So when you have extracted your WAV file, how do you know if it’s lossless or not?

It’s MP3 — I jsut ripped them as WAV’s using EAC. No conversion.

By the way, common misconceptions:

Converting something to FLAC, does not make it lossless.

Having it on CD/CD-R, does not make it lossless.
