Composed by the great, awesome, epic Joe Hisaishi, 2011
GAMERIP VERSION 2
Many thanks for the help of the wonderful AchillesPDX!
I already had the official soundtrack and the gamerip from the DS version but the PS3 version’s music turned out to be far superior to both! I wonder why nobody has even attempted to rip it yet… this is a goldmine!
This gamerip has better quality (48000Hz music and even surround in the AC3 version) and there is twice the amount of music from the soundtrack. There is more and different music that is just as good as the rest of the tracks from the DS version and the OST – as we’ve come to expect from Joe Hisaishi, this music is simply excellent. ^^

The track names are as correct as possible – I spent a long time naming and sorting the tracks. I watched most if not all of the available playthroughs of Ni no Kuni on the internet. I based the names on the events in those playthroughs and the official soundtrack. I was thinking about considering track 37 a duplicate of track 38 (the original), but then I realized that track 37 has been adapted a bit to have a matching volume throughout the track.

Have fun everyone! :3
Balderdash! This is too good to be true? Why I…
What? He’s right? He wasn’t lying? Oh, happy day! Happy day!
Oh why does it take so long for it to be finally released in the west, I can hardly wait another year to hear the music in the game.
I started uploading the FLAC version. The first and last (9th) part are already available in the first post.
After the FLAC version, I’ll upload the original AC3 files too. 😉
EDIT -> The FLAC version is up! I’ll start uploading the AC3 files in a few minutes.
By the way, I noticed a slight difference in the performance of Fragments of Hearts from the DS gamerip and the one from the official soundtrack and this gamerip. It seems that was re-recorded after the release of the DS version.
Anyway, the AC3 version is up. I’ve finished uploading, hope you all enjoy it. 🙂
This is amazing. Thank you. By the way Bar, what were the source files for this? AC3, if I read right? I’m just asking since sometimes PS3 games use low-quality ATRAC codecs to compress their audio.
The source was indeed AC3. The cutscene audio used ATRAC3 but I checked them and it turned out there was no music in the cutscenes that I didn’t already have. 😉
I had (stupidly) assumed that the PS3 version would be using the same score as the DS version. I didn’t even consider the possibility that Hisaishi would actually come back and record more! Superb music, as one would expect from Hisaishi.
And a lovely rip. Folks – this is how to do it.
I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve nicked some of your AC3s for a project over in the Orchestral Action Music Thread… 😉 http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/big-orchestral-action-music-thread-57893/377.html#post1929872
And thanks! ^^
Who do I credit the ripper? I name ,y folders with such information incase I want/need to re-upload them for someone.
I’m the ripper, so credit either "Bar", "Byvar" or "Droolie" as those are my most used nicknames. 🙂
😀
thnks for the upload
Thanks in advance!
Can anybody reupload the AC3 rip?
New MP3 and FLAC links can be found in the first post 🙂
Thank you!!
Fixed, thanks for telling me! ^^
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to play the game 😀
Can anybody reupload the AC3 rip?
First of all, thank you for the upload! It’s probably the OST with the best sound quality in my collection, thanks to the 5.1 effect. Very good! =)
But I really would wish for the AC3, too. So I can listen to it on the surround system. Has anybody gotten it?
It’s weird for me to think I’ll be listening to the music from the game before it’s actually in-my-hands.
O_o

O_o
I do that all the time hehe. Soundtrack is released in Japan. I listen to it. Then game come out months or years later in the US.
if only somebody can upload the ac3 virsion. thanks bar
Both will be done on Tuesday, thanks to the help of the wonderful AchillesPDX! 😀
I promise I’ll also do a correct mixdown this time. I didn’t know what I was doing last time, but luckily I do now. The music is now really OST quality. 🙂
The AC3 files I’ll provide will again be the original, untouched AC3 files. The MP3 and FLAC versions of the soundtrack will of course be looped where necessary. Oh, and I’ll make the FLAC version a stereo mixdown too… for 6 channels, you’ll just have to get the AC3 version! For that reason, I will also provide an edited AC3 version which will be exactly like the MP3 and FLAC versions, but in surround format. 🙂
I might change the track names and order a bit too. Do you think I should keep the Japanese naming ("Arie" for example) or should I go with the new English naming ("Allie" instead of "Arie" for example)? I’m personally more a fan of the Japanese names, but the English names might be more recognizable for a lot of people. 🙂
I pre-ordered the Wizard-edition for the european release and can’t wait to play the game ^^
I recommend to keep the english titles even the japanese ones are more original 😉
I only listened to the opening and i already said (IVE GOTTA HAVE THAT!) Thanks! 🙂
I updated the first post with the new version of the gamerip! The quality is much better than the last one AND it includes the English version of Fragments of Hearts as well. The naming is a lot better (no more unknown tracks) and I’ve even included a little cover this time. The FLAC version is now in stereo as well, as lossless as possible. It sounds exactly like the official soundtrack. I’ve also uploaded 2 AC3 versions for those who like to listen in surround: one looped like the MP3 and FLAC versions and one in its original, untouched format for those who would like to create their own rips or compilations. Everyone, it’s time to redownload it 😉
Thanks for the advice, Adamkun and SetoPhantomhive! As you can see, I took the middle road for naming the tracks. 🙂
Do downloads from MEGA take long to get started?….or better yet, what is the best browser to download from MEGA?
Using Chrome!
Please upload to SendSpace or MediaFire so I can get it.
(Computer errors with both sites given).
I’m not going to risk uploading to mediafire anymore (they’ve deleted most of my files a few months ago – that really sucked), but I’ll upload some files to sendspace.
Already uploaded the mp3 version, currently splitting the flac version’s archive so I can upload it there… 🙂

If you are doing a reupload, can you retag Executor’s Night composer as Rei Kondoh?
Hmm, I don’t feel that that one tag is bad enough to reupload both the MP3 versions and FLAC versions everywhere. My bandwidth isn’t endless. 🙁
Besides, we don’t know exactly what tracks were composed by Rei Kondoh yet, apart from the Executor’s Knight.
I have already changed that tag in the version on my PC though, so if I ever need to reupload it, it will be tagged as Rei Kondoh. 🙂

That’s what I meant haha sorry for being unclear

Disc 1 seems to be a straight copy of the Japanese soundtrack release – disc 2 is the additional 30 minutes of music recorded for the PS3 expansion. Splendid. 😀
i downloaded the edited ac3 from files.mail but zip file is corrupted somehow and there is only some of the tracks not all of theme.i tried two times and i am sure that the download is completed, final size of the zip file is 572 mb ?
That’s strange – the size is indeed 572mb, but the original archive isn’t corrupted. Maybe files.mail.ru isn’t such a good choice after all. I’ll start uploading that archive to Sendspace in a minute. 🙂
EDIT -> Done, check the first post ^^
You either love or hate JRPGs…
is cd music fantastic
my car is verry good
my frends i love yu for life

That is certainly not the norm for Japanese releases though so maybe it was a contractual thing with Joe Hisaishi. Do we know if Hisaishi also did the other non-orchestral stuff?
Do we know if Hisaishi also did the other non-orchestral stuff?
I’ll be gently inserting the game disc into my PS3 tomorrow morning, and then, when/if i hear non-orchestral music, i’m sure i will be able to tell if it is Hisaishi’s music or not, but he has done non-orchestral/non-acoustic before, so i suppose it wouldn’t be too much of a difficult decision for him to make, nor a difficult transition.
But they may very well have hired someone to make some "filler" music in order to fill every field, town, event with different music, but hisaishi has most likely composed a much larger soup of sounds then we know of, and i think/hope that every nook and cranny of the world within the game is filled to the brim with his music.
in an interview with him regarding his work on the game he seemed very inspired and passionate. i think it’s his baby and his alone. 😀
Not everything, as it seems Rei Kondoh already did one other track (The Executor’s Knight). We don’t know anything about the rest of the non-orchestral music though…
Is this the jap soundtrack or the US released soundtrack? Does this include this extra tracks that the english OST has? Thanks!
It’s not an official soundtrack at all – this is a gamerip (of both the Japanese and US versions of the game), which means that this includes all of the tracks in the game. So yes, this has all of the extra tracks that the English OST has, and much more. 🙂
Haha, I was just writing my reply to your earlier post while you posted that 😛

Rei Kondoh composed for this game?
Does the gamerip have the Rei Kondoh tracks by any chance?
It does 🙂 "41 – The Executor’s Knight" is the only track I know of that Rei Kondoh really made though."

As far as I’ve heard, there are up to 15 tracks by Rei Kondoh in the game that weren’t included on the OST. I can think of a few on top of the one you mentioned – the Golden Grove theme for instance (which gets used elsewhere too). Also, that strange but lovely ambient track that plays in some of the forest dweller locations (winter isles I think), and also in the forest where the Conductor and the Guardian of Worlds are. I know there’s more…
EDIT: I think the Ship Theme is Kondoh’s too. It even actually sounds a bit like Orca’s Theme from Okami.

Wow. What are these tracks called in the rip? (I haven’t played the game)
apparently though the sendspace link for the ac3 version is missing one or more parts, I can only see part 1.
is the mega version different?
thank you so immeasurably much for this.

It looks like the sendspace link for part 2 expired… I currently don’t have time to take care of that yet but I will do so as soon as I can.
The Mega/files.mail.ru version is one big rar file – the contents are basically the same as the two rar files from sendspace. So you can download that in the meantime! 🙂

oh, so they are. while reading I saw something along the lines of "I uploaded something different/better/updated on a certain domain" so I wasn’t sure. once again, thanks a lot (:
unrelated, but may I ask you what character is in your icon? I feel like I know it and I can’t shake it off, it’s driving me nuts XD

Ah, thanks for indirectly reminding me to reupload part 2 to sendspace xD I updated the first post with the new link. 🙂
The character in my avatar is from a Rayman fangame called Dreambound. It’s still in early development so I doubt you’d have heard of it but the character was made to resemble the Electoons from Rayman 1 and Origins. 😉

it did remind me of rayman. good, that’s one less splinter in my head. I have another though _ is it me, or are the tracks "Taking to the Skies" and "Gradion, Wand of Legends" exactly the same?
It’s mostly the same, but track 37 (Taking to the Skies) has been adapted to have a matching volume throughout the track, while track 38 (Gradion ~The Legendary Wand~) is the original orchestration. I would have added only the original, but track 37 is more commonly heard in the game, so I added both. 🙂
mh.. even after a re-listening I don’t really notice differences.. unfortunately, my speakers broke and the ones I have right now are terrible. a potato would have better audio quality.
in any case, thanks a lot again. (:
but while there is an mp3 version of around 200 mb and an ac3 version of around 500 mb, I found that the version I got was an mp3 version of around 500 mb. and I downloaded it from the mega or the mail.ru sites listed under the ac3 version, but I can’t remember which.
only my VLC plays ac3, and I prefer to use winamp, as does my friend.
I remember downloading from BOTH mega and mail.ru, and one of the archives was smaller (570+- vs 500+-, the unzipped folder is exactly 510 mb here).
I wanted to know which link I should give him.

Perhaps you converted the ac3 files to mp3 yourself? The links under the AC3 version link to archives with ac3 files (and both the MEGA and files.mail.ru links link to the same file). I also never had a mp3 version that large. There’s no reason for it to be 500MB, the rip is 212MB in maximal MP3 quality.
I suggest you go with the mp3 version. It’s relatively small and there’s not that much quality loss compared to the FLAC version. 😉

FINAL EDIT: scratch everything, I understood what happened. I’m an idiot. XD there’s this shriner called Rudy Roughnight that looped every track, making them longer, and of course, heavier. I downloaded multiple archives and couldn’t figure out what was which and where I got it from.
Thread 127362
I don’t remember if I read about it in this thread or it popped out while searching elsewhere, but I don’t have time to check the comments now. I’ll do so within today though! thanks and sorry again!
EDIT: nvm, I guess I could just look at the OST tracklisting. 😛
This is the flac version
Enjoy

If anyone still have the gamerip, I’m looking for it too!

So to start, I reuploaded the NnK gamerip! Links are in the OP.
Temporarily it will be hosted on Mediafire, but I don’t know how long that link will last. I’ll create a new MEGA account and mirror it there as well.
If you guys have any advice on how not to get your uploads deleted these days, please let me know. 🙂
