In fact that is only a terrible DVD release of the film out there, with a nice Blu-Ray transfer you might be able to do an Isolated score edit.

Apparently, the DVD is terrible because it is old (1998 release, no re-release). For that time it was good, but nowadays it’s obsolete. It’s true that a Blu-Ray release of this motion picture would be miraculous, as it is a guilty pleasure.

Perhaps Intrada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrada_Records) or La-La Land (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La-La_Land_Records) might tackle an expanded release of the score someday. People should notify them by e-mail to elevate their thinking.

Apparently, the Blu-Ray is out. Not a special treatment of the film, but rather a cheap dual combo. It is said that picture quality is an improvement over the old piss-poor DVD, yet though not something staggering. On the other hand, the 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track is said to be impressive.
IMO, the new release has potential, but alas only Intrada could save the day by presenting an expanded score for this one.

Deep Rising is an excellent score, and really needs an expanded release. The original album is extremely lacking.
I’m in line for an Intrada/LaLaLand re-release.

Have always loved this movie, It was the first Ever DVD i bought way back in the day. And yes the score needs to be expanded, the song that is played after the opening credits there when you first see Finigan’s boat is my fav, and sadly missing from the soundtrack.
