Aliens Colonial Marines (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBIpUEjFFHA): Being able to return to Acheron/LV-426 from the movie, finding out what happened to the USS Sulaco… Yes, I’m a Aliens fan, I just hope this turns out to be better than Aliens Vs Predator. Still give it a shot though…
Dragon’s Dogma (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYHKgvciOyc): I admit I’m not a fan of RPG’s like The Elder Scrolls series etc, but after Skyrim I’m willing to give them another shot (I do like Skyrim… but I do question a few things regarding it… but that’s for another thread). From what I’ve read and seen about Dragon’s Dogma, I don’t know why but it does appeal to me.
Syndicate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR3vo7G8wgs): Ok… This, I admit to be a huge fan of the original Syndicate games on the PC… still have them now lol. Even though this does look similar to Deus Ex Human Revolution… I could never get into the Deus Ex universe… I’m more of, runnin around blowing shit up and fucking with enemies minds… so this game ‘should’ fit me well.
Grand Theft Auto V (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkkoHAzjnUs): Been a fan of the GTA series since the first came out on Playstation… pity the fourth installment failed to drag me in. As GTAV is set back in San Andreas (I still maintain that GTA: SA is the BEST GTA game… with Vice City a close second) and with the graphics of the intro usual indicative of what the ingame graphics look like, this looks pretty polished. Here’s hoping the actual story is better than IV’s.
And finally…. (and to Vrykolas and others, this title should be no surprise)
Mass Effect 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBjoi5BiKoc) Told you it’d be no surprise lol…. Even though the final game has multiplayer (which it never needed in the first frakking place!!), I want to be abe to finish my character’s story from the first two games… Though, why the frak did they include kinect functionality in this?!?!
Anywayz… those are my five titles I’m looking forward to. Probably be more as the year goes on and more trailers are released…
Are you guys looking forward to any titles this year? If so, what are they?
Tales of the Abyss 3ds

Is it not out in PAL regions yet?
Final Fantasy 13-2
Its seems like I’m one of those really old fashioned types, who come to the Final Fantasy Shrine Forums, because I actually really do like the Final Fantasy series! Many people had major problems with FF13, but I was not one of them. It may not have been one of the best FF, but I still liked it well enough, and I’m up for this time bending sequel.
Soulcalibur V
Souooollll CALIBER! Yep, I’m a big fan of this series, although I think it peaked at SC2. Hopefully this will be a return to form for the series, after a couple of dodgy installments.
Resident Evil Revelations
I’m not sure ‘looking forward to’ is the right expression, more like ‘nervously wringing my hands, because this is the game that determines whether the series has any kind of future’. Seriously, with the main story completely finished, this game needs to explain to us why the franchise is still going. I hope it has some good answers…
Mass Effect 3
I can’t really tell if I’m excited about this game or not. I don’t feel excited at all, and the scars of the (IMO) awful ME2 run deep. But, I guess I’ll get it out of sheer love for the original Mass Effect, and if it turns out to be great, I’ll join a barbershop quartet with Mordin, Garrus and Revan (as in our Revan from the forums) and we’ll sing Gilbert and Sullivan showtunes to honour a successful end to the series.
Ninja Gaiden 3
Alright, so Ninja Gaiden 2 was crap, but the original (particularly Ninja Gaiden Black) was one of the greatest beat em ups for years and years, purely because it was so outrageously hard. Its fair to say that I have no expectation of this being any good if I’m honest, but hope springs eternal…
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
We talked about this on another thread recently. I’m unconvinced about how good an idea it is, but having the zombies back will be great. Apparently you get to kill Leon (which I would only want to do if he’s been written like he was in RE4).
Bioshock Infinite
To be fair, my actual level of interest in this game is zero at the moment. Bioshock is one of my favourite games of this gen (maybe even my actual favourite), but this looks like more of the same, with some new skins. I’m just not convinced that lightning can strike twice like this, but seeing as how I really, really love Bioshock, I’m going to hope for the best. Maybe I’ll be more enthused by the time it comes out.

Not sure about this one. Typically divisive game from Atlus by the sounds of things. Not wild at all about the block jumping thing, but I think Atlus are one of those companies whose games I have to play at least once, just for the experience. Realistically, this game sounds like a bit of a disappointment, but we’ll see.
Persona 4 Vita
I never played Persona 4 on the PS2, but after playing Persona 3 and loving it last year, I may be forced to buy a Vita just to play this.
Anyway, that’s it. Not happy at all that Halo’s dead body is being flogged once more, deeply cynical about Syndicate, and I’ve never liked GTA or anything to do with the ICO/Shadow of the Collosus series.
I’ll point out I am particularly interested in this game, though. I’ve seen some footage for it and it looks like it could be influenced by Lost Planet and Monster Hunter (both franchises also belonging to Capcom and both being incredibly fun to me). It’s a really big shame it doesn’t have co-op in it.
If you want a game similar to TES, you should probably be looking at Kingdoms of Amalur instead of Dragon’s Dogma though.

Why am I thinking of Mordin’s song in ME2 now? lol

TBH, never heard about Kingdoms of Amalur… I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Bioshock Infinite
Mass Effect 3
Starcraft 2: Heart Of The Swarm (Blizzard said Q1 2012, I think it’s reasonable to expect it around September :P)
Grand Theft Auto V
Ah, that’s it I guess. I’m gonna let everything else surprise me.
@Vrykolas Why not simply get P4 on the PS2? It’s not going to be a different game, and it doesn’t seem worth it to get a whole new (expensive) console, just for a port.

I don’t know why you’d buy from within Australia anyway.
I don’t know why you’d buy from within Australia anyway.
Because I don’t like buying stuff online. I prefer to go to my local store and buy it in person and if I do purchase something from Ebay, I pay via a Australia Post Money Order.

I agree. IV was a real disappointment. The Ballad of Gay Tony was what I would have liked IV to be more like.
Hopefully Rockstar have put the fun back into V. If they have, I’ll buy it.
VC was my favourite of all. SA second.
Persona 3 Portable was apparently quite different from the PS2 version (whole extra character to play, and the interface changed to a point and click, instead of having a character on screen to move around – which seems slower for no real benefit, so I don’t see that as a downside). There is almost certainly going to be extra content on the Vita version of P4, because they always do if even only a little (so they can try to persuade people who already have the game to buy it again).
If you played the original version of Star Ocean: Til the End of Time, you’d miss out on 2 playable characters (one of them being Mirage who is among my favourites). If you played the original Eternal Sonata, you’d have a completely different and inferior last third of the game, plus less characters. Original version of Final Fantasy 7 has no Emerald and Ruby WEAPONs etc etc.
So I think it makes sense to always try and get the latest version of any JRPG you are interested in.

Oh I agree with that, I just think it’s a very large investment to get an entirely new console (like I said, an expensive one) just for that.

Well…cut this out.
Played the demo and was NOT impressed.

Shit, another 100+hr game?
Shit, another 100+hr game?
Played the demo of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (not just to see what it’s like, but also for the Reckoner Knight armor and Chakram Disc Launcher for Mass Effect 3) and while it seemed initially a decent game, subsequnt playthroughs (due to boredom) have lowered it’s apeal to me. Guess I’m not just a fan of cutesy style graphics and sprites…
If you’re interested in it, and are after some bonus gear for it, download and play the Mass Effect 3 demo on February 14th, to get Shepard’s N7 Armor and two Omniblade daggers for use in the full game.
Shit, another 100+hr game?
I’ve been playing the full game for a little while. I’m not sure you’ll get 100 hours out of it. Though, that being said, I’m not sure how people manage to get 100 hours out of Skyrim or any given MMO. Speaking of MMOs though, Amalur feels very much like one. You progress through zones as if it were an MMO. The writing isn’t great and usually just feels like an excuse to send you off to clear some dungeon and get experience. And, unfortunately, fetch quests are pretty common. Combat isn’t too interesting either because you’re rarely up against monsters you can’t kill in one or two hits. That might change later, but so far even the bosses have been a pushover and I’m playing on hard.
The crafting systems in the game are pretty good though.
