Hi, sorry for the request in this forum, but I don’t know where else to go…

Anyone got this great interpretation of this work, which includes the complete choral accompaniement. I remember hearing this off a vinyl box set from Reader’s Digest as a child and how it affected me for the rest of my life. It was the catalyst that got me into incidental music before I became aware of film music.

If you know it’s in the wrong forum, why is it here? It is easy for me to believe that you had a request in the right place–and you got tired of waiting for a response?

Sorry, I might be ignorant here, but i only see three request forums in which none mention classical music 🙂

Ah, I see your point. But seeing as how this forum was named "Film, Television and Classical Music Download Links," I’d assume there must also be a request forum that directly corresponds to that title. Perhaps they couldn’t fit "Classical" in that one’s title. Don’t we have a Classical by Request thread in here somewhere?

By the way, the 1812 Overture with choir is super epic. I don’t know how many versions there are of it, but I’ve only found one on YouTube. It wouldn’t hurt to have a higher quality version, so it looks like I’ll be joining you in this request!

You can always place a request in the Hunt thread as well, there are some well versed classical members there who may be able to help.

I searched the orchestra name and such and came up with this YouTube video: Eugene Ormandy: Tchaikovsky – 1812 Overture – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3ZMpv9CnZk). Just as clarification, is this the version you’re after. I didn’t check what quality it was, but it could easily be ripped and converted to mp3.

EDIT: I’m gonna guess no, because the choir is only at the beginning.

Thanks, D, but the one I heard years ago also had the choir in the closing part.

@Babydoll: Thanks for the info! 🙂

Yeah, I’ll have to look around YouTube a bit to see if I can find the version I have with the choir at the end–I want to say that the lyrics are in German, but I’m not entirely sure. I must point out that this version I have does not use cannons firing where you typically hear them in the song.
